The history of Nowy Styl goes back nearly thirty years. "We started our company right at the beginning of the biggest technological boom in history," says Vice-President and Finance Director Rafał Chwast. "It took us only a quarter of a century to find our way from a chair manufacturer to a global expert in the all-encompassing furnishing of spaces."
Meanwhile, Nowy Styl, which freely translated means "new way of thinking," has grown into a mature company with a very wide range of offerings. "We are 'predestined' by our name," laughs CEO and co-founder Adam Krzanowski.
"When we chose the name Nowy Styl for our company, our vision was to offer customers something that no one had offered before," he said.
In 1992, for example, no one in Poland thought about making chairs based on a metal frame. It was the Krzanowski brothers who popularized them and then did the same with swivel chairs. Soon their own production of frames and other components began. "Since then we have been constantly thinking about what more unknown doors we could open and what new things we could try."
Over the years, in addition to developing its strong own brand, Nowy Styl Group has been able to secure an extensive portfolio of high-quality brands. In addition to Rohde & Grahl, it carries the brands BN Office Solutions, Grammar Office, Sitag, Kusch+Co & Forum Seating. The portfolio is dominated by modern solutions for offices and many other sectors such as stadiums, passenger terminals, hotels and healthcare providers and includes products of outstanding quality designed by outstanding designers. The brands (with the exception of Kusch+Co) will cease to exist as a result of the rebranding and become an integral part of the new Nowy Styl. A drastic, but well-thought-out change. Krzanowski explains: "We continue to develop continuously and want this growth to be reflected in our strategy and communication. Therefore, the goal of the rebranding is to showcase our strengths and emphasize our character."
The choice of Nowy Styl as the name for the leading brand represents a return to the company's roots. "Authenticity is invaluable these days," Krzanowski says. "Of course, we could have come up with a full-blown new name or changed the original Polish company name to the international version, but this would be artificial and mean undermining and perhaps even erasing our identity."
Rohde & Grahl, too, will eventually change to Nowy Styl. But this is not the only change: the product range will become even more versatile as a result of the merger. With the addition of the assortment of Kusch+Co, among others, a broader market can be served, from healthcare facility to passenger terminal. In addition, the new brand SOHOS by Nowy Styl will be launched in the near future, which includes products with basic functionalities and an excellent price-performance ratio. What will not change is that the company will continue to operate from Amersfoort, where its diverse range will be on display in the inspiring showroom.
