Very light fiberglass window sill makes work easier!

Although construction always continues to evolve, for a long time this progress did not apply to window sills. This created a problem: the existing sills no longer matched modern insulated facades because of their weight. Raamdorpelelementen BV therefore comes up with an entirely new type of window sill made of glass fiber.

It took more than half a century, but now the new IsoSill window sill is here. Bart Tenbült, director-owner of Raamdorpelelementen BV from Bladel: "Window sills always had a stone-like surface, but what you see now is that insulation is being placed against the outer wall. Then the existing sills are too heavy. They need support, which causes a thermal bridge under the windows."

So Tenbült went looking for an alternative. "We were looking for a light material. Here you can think of aluminum but this does not have the right look. Then we tried to make the existing window sills lighter, but advantages then become disadvantages. In the end, a completely new product turned out to be the best solution. IsoSill window sills have a core of EPS (tempex), which is light and insulating. The outer layer is GRP: it also has insulating properties and is very strong. A 3mm thick window sill weighs only three pounds per meter due to this combination. This is ideal for projects with insulation on the outside."

Looking for total supply

Raamdorpelelementen BV has over 19 years of
experience in the field of window sills. Innovation is no stranger to Tenbült. Since 2001, his company has been gluing loose window sills into convenient but heavy elements. These prefabricated window sills are made in one piece in his own factory. This type is supplied glazed or unglazed and there is a choice of various
colors such as brick red, anthracite and blue-green. Then these elements can be tightly assembled in no time. This is faster and flatter and can be done by hand.

"Why brick individual window sills when you can tightly assemble a complete window sill element in no time? Ready-made window sills are easy to install. A lot of contractors, handymen, housing associations and architects have already taken advantage of them."

No masonry skills are required for this product. "We deliver everything nicely sorted in the recognizable red steel bins or on red racks. The guys lay down a window sill element without any special trade knowledge. So the contractor does not have to send a separate mason. Window sill elements make renovation work unprecedentedly simple with as little inconvenience as possible for the residents: at the end of the day, everything is ready."

In addition to precast window sills, Raamdorpelelementen has been supplying window sills made of natural stone for two years. Tenbült: "In the future, this will also include concrete. In this way we want to become a total supplier, with two unique products: ceramic window sill elements and IsoSill. We supply window sills for 12,000 homes a year throughout the Netherlands. It's easy to expand our product range."
