What the customer comes up with, we can produce.

What the customer comes up with, we can produce

Two entities with their own specialization in the field of walls. Starting this year, the two companies will merge even more. Staff will take over tasks from each other and the customer will benefit. Service and delivery can be even faster and better through this next step.

"We are really going to forge both parts into one," director and co-owner Fred Mak kicks off the conversation. Together with commercial managers Vincent Verweij and Martijn Zellman, he tells the story of this next step in the company's development, as well as the current trends in the market that are important anno 2021. "We can serve every customer in every step of the construction process," says Martijn Zellman. "From drawing to production to delivery, we can advise and guide the client."

Own specialty

Sepawand has been known as a developer, supplier and installer of partitions and doors for nearly 50 years. Moveable solutions that can divide spaces in the perfect way. In recent years, the number of options in the range has continued to increase. Aspects such as durability, atmosphere and soundproofing have become increasingly important. The market demands more diversity in terms of aesthetics and technology. Sepawand continues to respond to this every time.

Mak: "These two companies have been operating in the same market for decades. By working together even more intensively, we can serve the customer even better. Sepawand has always been strong in wall production and has had a number of large companies as customers for years. Think UWV, Wehkamp, ABN AMRO and Schiphol Airport. Wall service was always known as a partner that could place and move walls. A real service-oriented company that ensured fast delivery and installation. So from now on, the personnel of the complete holding company are even more broadly deployable. "

No restrictions

As mentioned, the range of walls has grown tremendously in recent years. The client determines the look and communicates his wishes. These are wishes that Sepawand can meet excellently. All walls are produced in-house, exactly as the customer envisages.

"Our contracts come in in various ways," Vincent Verweij reveals. "Sometimes it's through a tender. Sometimes there is a direct request. It may be new construction, but we also look at renovations or conversions. Together with the client, we go through construction drawings or specifications and discuss until a certain type of wall best matches the client's wishes. We dare to say: whatever the customer comes up with, we can produce. There are an unprecedented number of possibilities for properly furnishing spaces."

The space after corona

Nowadays, both glass walls and interior walls with special printing are particularly popular. Here the customer can choose a photo or a special design. Verweij thinks that spaces in offices will be used differently after the corona crisis. "We already notice that due to the increase in working from home, many companies are searching. What is the right layout for the office in this new era? Meeting rooms will have a different layout, as well as rooms with regular workstations. Thanks to our wide product range, we are able to think along with the customer and offer a suitable solution."

Zellmann nods affirmatively and complements his colleague. "Actually, there is also an increasing demand for atmosphere and coziness. We see the use of photo prints or special types of foil coming back more and more. At Sepawand, we have the ability to print all the walls and then make them in a number of desired panels. Today's office is more transparent and is also increasingly serving as a meeting place. For this, atmosphere is essential."

Diversity of customers

Sepawand's customer base is enormously broad. In addition to offices, this wall specialist also supplies schools, dental offices, industrial companies, sports facilities and more. Often these are movable partition walls that are prefabricated finished. Each customer has its own wishes and requirements in this regard. Mak: "A school, for example, will have to deal with much more damage to walls than a regular office space. Young people are more mobile and less careful. Then it is important that a wall can be changed quickly. At those times, the specialists of Wall Service come into action. In addition, we are increasingly active in projects. Many companies have been loyal to us for decades. For example, we recently received a major order from dredging company Boskalis; a loyal customer for many years. They needed 2,000 square meters of walls for a new building. That is a large order that we are happy to meet." In the context of sustainability, walls are also increasingly being reused. Where in the past they simply went to demolition, today they are given a new place or are completely disassembled in parts or recycled into raw materials for new wall systems. "A positive contribution to the circular economy is important to us," Zellmann concludes. "In addition, performance and soundproofing of walls are greatly improved so that they are also longer in use. Thanks to all these aspects, we have made a positive contribution to a sustainable world. That is what our customers ask for and greatly appreciate."
