MBI introduces Florim ceramic cladding: 'Italian ceramic with its own installation frame'

"It offers both economic, environmental and aesthetic advantages. In cooperation with Italian company Florim Solutions, we are introducing ceramic facade systems with their own installation frame."

MBI is a Dutch family business with 400 employees and headquarters located in Veghel. Van Dooijeweert: "We are the market leader in aesthetic paving materials. In our four factories, spread across the Netherlands, we make terrace tiles for the private market, as well as clinkers and bricks for the public infrastructure and construction market. Our products are trendsetting, an example that many an architect will be familiar with is the long-form facade brick GeoStylistix."

"Our company has three market segments, namely; infra, garden and construction. We are also doing well in construction with the production of masonry bricks, but we look ahead and see the facade market changing and asking for other solutions. So we ended up with the ceramic facade systems of Florim, an independent Italian family company with an excellent reputation. They are very good at manufacturing ceramics. They also offer a unique installation frame and have the right technical knowledge to engineer ideas and designs for our customers."

When designing the ceramic facades - according to Van Dooijeweert - insulation and beauty are important themes. "Florim proves with its superior ceramic cladding that functionality does not come at the expense of aesthetics. It is a flexible system that is applicable for new construction and renovation and it is independent of other materials used in the facade envelope. It can be used in combination with any type of insulation material and meets the highest standards of technical reliability. In addition, it provides not only thermal insulation but also weather protection. A very big advantage; whatever design the user chooses, the fact is that the ceramic surface retains its visual quality for life. The clean forms, innovative and eye-catching designs and the quality of the ceramics perfectly match modern architecture. It always meets the personal vision of the architect and client."

Van Dooijeweert: "With Florim, MBI further completes its product portfolio as a total solution provider for outdoor space. If we are allowed to supply masonry bricks for the construction of a hotel, for example, we also immediately offer a solution for the parking spaces, the driveway or the garden. And now also a solution for the facade with ceramic tiles. The next step is that we might go inside and supply ceramic indoor tiles for bathrooms, toilets and the reception area. With also our good contacts with Italian manufacturers, we continue to make responsible steps in a new world and continue to build bridges as a company."

Florim is based in the Italian region of Modena, where there are two factories and 1,400 employees produce and refinish cladding panels. "The brand is accessible all over the world with beautiful showrooms in cities such as New York, Shanghai, Moscow and London. Recently, the company has also settled in our MBI-Florim Design Center in Amsterdam."
