Making buildings into true works of art with light
Over 300 meters of RGBW light line lighting a supporting structure. This makes the building appear to float. Color and brightness are fully programmable.

Using light to turn buildings into true works of art

"Combined with optics and communication protocols, we can create almost endless light creations. If we have to, we create a complete light show."

Cleary is a lighting company and offers complete solutions for lighting buildings, commercial properties, churches and bridges, among others. Van Twist: "We make installations with static white light, with which we illuminate elements of older architectural buildings; beautiful and warm light. But also colored and pixelated solutions with a different effect every day; orange light lines during King's Day, red during Valentine's Day and on normal working days in company colors. With light, we emphasize features of buildings. We work with lighting fixtures from various A-brands and we provide the complete solution from lighting design to installation and programming. We use light at night to show the contours of a building."

Knowledge is one of Cleary's focal points. "We invest primarily in lighting technical issues and topics such as lighting controls, software and the communication protocols between lighting fixtures. We know the environmental factors; if there are interference elements that interfere with the equipment, it requires an alternative solution. We have everything in-house, switch quickly and our customer has a single point of contact."

The owner of a hotel chain inquired about options for lighting his hotel in Rotterdam. "We take shots of the property and look at the options. Our lighting designer visualizes the final effect and, with a number of proposals, we discuss further. With the chosen design, we get to work. We arrange it from Atot Z; from design to installation and, if desired, maintenance as well."

Weather conditions, as well as location, determine the extent of maintenance. "KPN's headquarters, at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam, is in the harbor and by the water. It can be very inclement there on a winter day. We made an installation and with it we maintain the more than 1,500 lighting fixtures; we check the cabling and connectors. That way a lighting installation always stays in top condition."

Van Twist: "We find that architectural lighting is often seen as an extra. A shame! When it comes to lighting, we like to be involved in renovation and new construction projects from the early stages. We help in the permit process, which allows us to properly seal the plans in terms of laws and regulations. Once our client gets the green light, we get to work. We always do that under the motto; every building deserves beautiful lighting at night too."
