Future Lighting takes important next step with successful second edition

Quickly grown to mature and full-fledged event

The second edition of Future Lighting on November 22 and 23 at Next Level in Evenementenhal Gorinchem was successful, event organizer Easyfairs reports with satisfaction. The event, with much focus on sharing knowledge and innovation welcomed no less than 59 exhibitors at this edition. The number of lighting professionals visiting Future Lighting also increased by nearly 40%.

"Whereas Future Lighting was still in its infancy last year, over the past year we have continued to build on the concept in collaboration with our partners. We have a common mission and that is that Future Lighting is the platform for light. Looking back on this second edition, we have taken an important step in that mission. It has become a fully-fledged and mature event where all the important lighting professionals from the Netherlands and Belgium come together," says Irma de Hoon, Business Unit Director at Easyfairs.

Irma continues: "On all facets we have taken the right qualitative follow-up steps. The number of participants has doubled, the number of visitors has grown considerably and overall we see that the quality continues to increase. The beating heart of the fair this year was again the conference hall where knowledge sessions were continuously held by rock-solid keynotes. Scientific knowledge was shared, brilliant new ideas for product development were presented and optimization in technology was discussed. These were topics that also recurred as a common thread at the event among our exhibitors."

Experts Dinner

New at Future Lighting was the "Lighting Experts Dinner" after the first event day. Over 80 lighting professionals dined together and discussed key propositions. The main goal, to collectively draw attention to the role of 'light,' was ratified with signatures of leading representatives from the lighting industry, recorded on a letter of intent. It was mutually agreed to work on this over the next year, to sign and hand over a covenant to a key representative within the lighting industry or government at the next Lighting Experts Dinner.   

"The Lighting Experts Dinner was very well received and also fits our quality concept perfectly," says Irma. "Not only at the dinner, but also at the event we saw a very good quality audience. The visitors came to the event with a lot of prior knowledge and targeted questions. Not only do we look back on this second edition with a broad smile, so did our exhibitors and partners. During the event alone, as many as 34 of the 59 exhibitors promised to be there again in 2024. Clearly, the lighting industry has fully embraced Future Lighting, and we are very proud of that. Now we will continue to build, because the lighting industry is on the eve of many interesting challenges that we would like to help them with," concludes a proud Irma.
