IP system with enhanced ease of use

Design and functionality combined in door communication

Siedle, the leading German manufacturer of building communication technology, is known for its uncompromising focus on quality and aesthetics. In early 2024, the company will introduce an updated version of Siedle's Access system. "We have fine-tuned it, making the IP system even more user-friendly and flexible," said Wim Brusselaers, General Manager of Siedle Benelux.

"Our customers are twofold. On the one hand, there is the private market. Here we supply our products, for example, to housing associations. On the other side are the large office buildings, hospitals and the like. Next year we will be introducing version two of our Siedle Access Professional for this target group."

This system integrates seamlessly into an IP network to enable all the functions of Siedle system technology, from voice connection via video to complex switching and control functions. "The new version runs on Linux, which is a better communication system for this application. In addition, the door stations on the inside of the building can be connected directly to a network cable, making separate cables and an inverter unnecessary. This makes the infrastructure simpler creates and more possibilities. With the door stations located inside, connection to a network cable is also possible immediately."

IP system easily expandable

Siedle Access Professional is used by many large companies because of its flexibility and professionalism. "Lidl's logistics points are all connected to this. For each country, control of this is brought together in one central unit. For companies like this, it is nice that they can continue to expand. Functions they don't choose today they can add in a month or a year from now, without having to change anything."

Other examples of major customers include a Belgian network operator of electricity, natural gas and water with 240 sites and Shell's headquarters. "Any architect who knows us knows that in addition to functionality, we also make sure our door stations look nice," Wim continues. "We like to do something more with the door stations located at the building. The architect does his best for a beautiful entrance, then it should not be dishonored with all kinds of different systems. We therefore combine different functionalities in our Siedle Classic and Steel design lines, for example. The designer can choose all kinds of finishes, such as steel, stainless steel, copper and brass, but all different RAL colors and anodized aluminum are also possible." 

Reliable door communication for hospital

Design and functionality come together at Aarhus University Clinic. This is one of the largest and most modern university clinics in Europe. The IP-based building communication system Siedle Access is also being used here.

"Being a huge building complex, with the dimensions of a small town, reliable door communication is crucial. All the different door stations are connected to one network server located in the building and easy to configure. A key requirement was maximum flexibility, and we can absolutely provide that with our modular software."

The project involves around 2,000 doors and indoor stations, distributed over buildings with a total area of more than 400,000 square meters. Siedle Vario installation was chosen. The pictured installation integrates video camera, status display for barrier-free access, loudspeaker and call buttons. A blind module was placed above the code lock at the very bottom - in order to add further functions.
