Increasingly, lighting is part of the total package for which the architect is responsible. Director of Novoluce BV, Dick van de Vendel: "As Novoluce, we offer a wide range of architectural and decorative lighting, suitable for both indoor and outdoor spaces. We almost never say we can't supply something. Together with the architect, we think about the complete picture."
Van de Vendel is convinced of the special function of lighting in a design. "Light is functional, but luminaires also fulfill a decorative role as an essential design element in creative spaces. By using different luminaires, shapes and mounting options, designers and architects can use light as a powerful tool to highlight the architectural features of a space, enhance spaciousness and enhance aesthetics."
Novoluce focuses on the import and distribution of lighting. "At first our customers were mainly independent lighting designers, over time this has been joined by more and more architects. Our team of experts provides them with information on the latest trends and technologies in the world of lighting." Novoluce distributes the lighting brands, Lightnet, Light-Point, Chors, Think Paper and Straipu. These guarantee a wide range of both functional and decorative fixtures.
"Light-Point produces lighting that is not only functional, but also makes a statement in both the commercial and residential worlds. The fixtures exude sleek, minimalist Danish design. The focus here is on aluminum LED lighting and unique matte anodized finishes such as brass, titanium, carbon black and rose gold." Light-Point is distributed exclusively by Novoluce, as are Chors and Lightnet. According to Van de Vendel, the latter brand is aimed pre-eminently at the architect. "The credo innovative and progressive fits Lightnet perfectly. The company goes very far in thinking along with the customers and possibly adapts techniques, such as degree arcs and colors. Almost everything is possible and, in addition, a short delivery time is guaranteed."
Lightnet's fixtures were used, among other things, for the lighting of socio-cultural center De Bernardus in Made, a project by ETK licht in cooperation with Total installer Van Dijk. The building houses associations, a library, childcare organizations and a theater hall. Through a multifunctional layout of the spaces and attention to both functionality and
decoration, energy-efficient lighting has been used, accentuating the characteristic elements. Decorative ring fixtures hang in the high vaults, which are not only a visual eye-catcher but also provide a powerful light output. Pendant fixtures with up- and downlighting give the building a sleek look.
"As Novoluce, we strive to bring the architect's vision to life through lighting," Van de Vendel summarizes his message. "We are here to help, in the search for a unique luminaire for a specific project or to advise on the best lighting solutions. In our showroom, architects can view our extensive range and sit down with us."
