Novy acquires Dutch lighting manufacturer Jansen & De Bont

 Innovative designer lighting added to existing range of hoods and cooktops 

Novy, Belgian market leader in the production of cooker hoods and cooktops, today announced the acquisition of Dutch lighting manufacturer Jansen & De Bont. With this, Novy takes an important step toward offering integrated kitchen solutions. 

Strategic acquisition for Novy 

Since its founding in 1907, Novy has been steadily building on their development to become the market leader in the extractor and cooktop segment by 2022. Novy employs 300 people internationally and has branches in five other countries, in addition to Belgium, and distributors in another 11 countries. 

To further develop the company, Novy looked for a suitable partner in the lighting sector. Important here were the interfaces in terms of sustainable quality, sleek design, innovation and ease of use. This was found with the successful Dutch company Jansen & De Bont. Founded in 2014 by Matthijs Jansen and Jorg de Bont, the company is known in the Netherlands as a producer of innovative and qualitative design lighting with an additional focus on sustainability and intuitive operation. 

Innovative designer lighting for unity in the kitchen 

For some time now, design lighting has been integrated as a distinctive element in Novy Premium products. Functional light combined with ambient light, in the form of scattered light on the ceiling or integrated into the product itself, makes for a more pleasant experience in the kitchen. 

Adding to Jansen & De Bont's range of stylish light objects, there is now also a solution for on the wall (Wall wall lighting), above the kitchen island or dining table (Pendant pendant pendant lamp), or integrated into a stylish wall shelf (Shelf ambient lighting). 

The consistently implemented sleek design, color scheme and recognizable style elements unify the collection, providing unity in kitchen lighting and consistency with the range hood and cooktop. 

Win-win for all parties

It is a great addition to our existing range and the perfect lighting solution for Novy worktop extractors, among others, where light is difficult to integrate," stated Francis Gistelinck, CEO of Novy with satisfaction. 

Matthijs Jansen adds: "Thanks to Novy's strong international dealer network, our products now reach a much larger market. It is a nice recognition for our work done and allows us to further expand the range qualitatively thanks to Novy's R&D and market knowledge." 

Francis Gistelinck also sees benefits for the end consumer and the kitchen dealers. "The customer gets a kitchen in which the lighting is perfectly matched, the cooktop and hood, and the kitchen dealer can make up a beautiful integrated design. A win-win for everyone." 

Made in Belgium 

The products will be marketed under the Novy brand name in the near future. The entire production of the lighting products will move in the fall to Novy's headquarters in Kuurne, West Flanders, where the development and manufacturing of the extractor hoods and cooktops is also located. For this purpose, production will be expanded with a new assembly line and investments will be made in specialized equipment such as a CNC sawing machine and a laser marking machine.
