For her own home, Annemieke Slaats, owner of Slaats Interieurarchitecten, chose door hardware from Olivari. Furthermore, Intersteel's invisible hinges and magnetic locks were applied for a sleek and modern look.
Slaats chose door handle Icona from the Olivari series. This door handle in chrome matte was designed by Belgian architect Vincent van Duysen, who paid great attention to ergonomics in this design. The door handle lies comfortably in the hand because of the rounded back of the handle. Instead, the visible front of the door handle is sleek and flat, creating a nice contrast.
Asked about the reason for choosing this door fitting, Annemieke Slaats says, "I chose this fitting for its apparent simplicity. The shape is made up of whole and half circles and rectangles, and is very sleek. The refinement lies in the fact that the shape has not come at the expense of use. On the contrary, the rounded back makes the door handles ergonomically pleasant. You would almost say, "why don't all door handles look like this". That naturalness is what I find to be the great quality of this hardware."
In addition to the door hardware for all interior doors, Slaats chose invisible hinges and magnetic locks from Intersteel to achieve a modern, stylish look. The doors now close beautifully tight in the frames.
