New location and forward-looking theme
After a successful first edition, ARCHITECT@WORK Amsterdam is getting ready for a promising return. This time, the second edition will take place at a new and inspiring location: The Kromhouthal, a characterful industrial site in the heart of Amsterdam. In this article a preview.
In addition to the new setting, the theme of content is also an important starting point for the 2025 edition. 'Thoughtful Tomorrow' - or literally translated 'Thoughtful Tomorrow' - illustrates how the emphasis should be on thoughtful building today
and tomorrow.
'Thoughtful Tomorrow' encourages as a theme to consider how the many innovations proposed - along with social, cultural and environmental considerations - can foster a future in which architecture is more intelligent, resilient and responsive. It is about thoughtful integration of technology and a deep understanding of the needs of our planet. This creates a future where the built environment truly enhances life. Thoughtful Building explores the future of architecture in numerous ways. We recognize a wide range of emerging trends and cutting-edge developments that are transforming the industry. These include the use of AI in architecture, flexible design, the implementation of new technologies and robotics in construction, smart materials, adaptive reuse (whether or not), the relationship between humans and cities...
An exciting and varied seminar program will once again be offered during the two-day event. Visitors can be inspired by renowned national and international speakers, each contributing in their own way to the debate on the future of architecture and thoughtful building.
The program includes lectures by B+B, Schmidt Hammer Lassen, EVA architects, la-di-da, Dyvik Kahlen Architects, Beyond Space and the BNI (Beroepsvereniging Nederlandse Interieurarchitecten). The themes covered are carefully chosen and reflect current issues and innovative thinking within the sector, such as bio-based building, transformation of existing buildings and design of urban spaces.
Besides the lecture program, ARCHITECT@WORK Amsterdam will also be enriched with some inspiring features. For example, a bookshop will be present with a selection of relevant publications on architecture, design and innovation, and art will also play a role within the overall experience of the event.
ARCHITECT@WORK remains the meeting place for the prescriber. More than an event, it is a platform where ideas are exchanged, collaborations arise and inspiration comes to life. This edition offers not only unique networking opportunities with leading industry experts, but also the opportunity to learn about product innovations.
Access to the event is by invitation only, after pre-registration through the website (www.architectatwork.nl).
