Need to slide a door or panel? Henderson Netherlands has the right track systems for any application. The company's products are used both indoors and outdoors, and the Soltaire sliding door system is even resistant to aggressive environmental influences.
"There was an increasing need for a track system that could withstand salty air, or indeed the chlorine vapor of a swimming pool," says René van den Biggelaar of Henderson Nederland BV. "To provide the right solution for this, we have had the Soltaire sliding door system in our range for some time now. This is suitable for interior and exterior sliding doors."
Made of marine grade 316 stainless steel, the system is ideal for coastal environments because of its weather and corrosion-resistant properties. "In addition, all other components are high quality stainless steel. The hanging rollers are made with four ball bearings so that there is smooth rolling resistance and little friction. They are sealed so that salt air cannot enter. We tested this, of course."
Soltaire comes in 120, 180 and 250 versions. These numbers correspond to the weight the system can support. "The system is suitable for applications with single sliding panels or double doors on a single or double track. Ready-made kits with two- and three-meter rails facilitate installation. For custom projects, we can also supply the sliding door sets as individual components. With a wide range of available hangers, brackets and guide options, we thus have a solution for most sliding door applications."
Thus, the sliding door system is very robust and corrosion resistant. However, there is another important advantage. "The wheels are concave, so they can run over a ledge in the rail. The advantage is that because of this there is no movement, they run perfectly straight. This is a major reason for the success of this product." The Soltaire system has now been used for various projects. In the Netherlands mainly for the installation of sun protection or sealing shutters.
"In 2020, we were involved in De Blanken Top - The Residence in Cadzand-bad. The apartments are located by the sea, on the dike. Our client made sun screens there out of wood. In order to be able to move these (despite weather conditions) properly, he chose Soltaire 250. He first tested this system in house for more than a year, of course with good results."
The rail system is also used indoors, mainly because of the very smooth wheel bearings, René says. "For a luxury application, where the best performance is required, this is the product. We also did a project in an Indonesian hotel. Here the Soltaire system allows the high folding doors and sliding doors in the restaurant to move. They chose our product because everyone can easily operate the doors with one hand and they can withstand intensive use."
Soltaire is also used indoors in the Netherlands. "Then it is mainly about the Soltaire 120, which we can apply in combination with the Compact 120. This minimalist built-in set is suitable for rooms with limited top space. The space between the rail and top of the door is then only 2mm."
Within the Shutterslide series, Soltaire 120 can also be electrically operated. "The use is twofold: If you apply Soltaire outdoors then it can withstand challenging conditions. Bring it indoors then you benefit from a sliding door system that runs perfectly straight."
