Glass balustrades are extremely popular. Not surprisingly, because thanks to these balustrades a modern look, lots of light, a maximum spatial effect and safety go perfectly hand in hand. It is not for nothing that glass balustrade systems are frequently used on balconies, (roof) terraces, stairs, galleries, voids and as a safety barrier for (private) swimming pools, for example. Thanks to the VetroMount® balustrade profile from Bohle Benelux BV, all these balustrades can be assembled in just a few steps and easily from the walking side.
For contractors, glass dealers and other parties installing glass balustrades, fast and easy installation is essential, knows Frank Bouwman, General Manager of Bohle Benelux BV. "VetroMount® responds to this optimally. In the anodized aluminum profile, the screw holes are already pre-drilled. Moreover, the number of mounting points is halved compared to standard systems. For top mounting, one standard screw anchor per 400 mm is sufficient, which saves a lot of assembly time and material costs."
Attaching the glass is done in just three steps and based on the cable tie principle, he says: "The system is equipped with tension straps with which you simply clamp the glass panels. You can then adjust the glass panels quickly and safely from the walking side, ensuring an optimal connection. If unexpectedly a glass panel is damaged, it is also easy to replace thanks to a clever release mechanism."
VetroMount® is now available for all common glass thicknesses. The system is supplied as a complete set, including profile, mounting blocks and finishing rubbers. On request, cover caps can also be supplied in aluminum or stainless steel colors, which guarantee a high-quality appearance of the balustrade systems. There is also space in the profile to integrate an LED strip.
Thanks to four floor profiles, a wide range of installation situations is possible, emphasizes Bouwman. "In addition to a U top mounting profile for standard mounting, we offer an F top mounting profile with extra lip, for mounting on the edge of a balcony or (roof) terrace. For side mounting, we also supply a basic U-profile with holes on the side. New to our range is a Y-profile for side mounting, where the holes are even lower in the profile."
All floor profiles are suitable for a load capacity of up to 1 kN. "Work is also currently underway on a heavier profile, with a load capacity of up to 3 kN, for use in stadiums and other public places where many people congregate. The introduction of this is planned for early next year."
