Introduction of brand new curtain wall system
Giving free rein to your creative freedom while minimizing your impact on the environment? You can with SAPA's brand new TENTAL curtain wall system, available in view widths of 50 and 60 mm. Thanks to the use of recycled aluminum, the TENTAL 60 system boasts a Cradle-to-Cradle Silver certification. Combined with high design and finishing freedom, it also allows numerous design options...
SAPA is at the forefront of sustainability. "In our route to a circular economy, we place high emphasis on recycling and reuse. But also on thermal insulation, low maintenance, energy performance and comfort, so that our systems continue to function sustainably over time," says Roger Cremer, Country Manager Benelux at SAPA.
"TENTAL is the next (big) step in this ambition. During development we paid explicit attention to circularity, economic opportunities and technical properties. As a result, sustainability, design freedom and easy production and assembly come together nicely."
"Whereas in the past architects had to choose between face widths of 52 and 60 mm for their cover profiles, with TENTAL they can freely combine face widths of 50 and 60 mm," emphasizes Cremer. "Moreover, cover profiles can be creatively adapted, with a deeper or shallower screw rail, a flat cover cap or, on the contrary, a concealed curtain wall structure. The possibilities are literally endless, which also applies to the surface treatment. Architects and clients can choose from an anodized or lacquered (matt, shiny, textured or metallic) versions, with the lacquering offered in quality class 2. Thus, the durability of our new curtain wall system also extends to the preservation."
At the basis of the SAPA TENTAL curtain wall profiles is a Hydro CIRCAL 75R alloy, which with approximately 2.3 kg of CO₂ per kilogram of aluminum has by far the lowest CO₂ footprint in the world.
"The material for 75% consists of recycled end-of-lifecycle aluminum, which comes from the windows, doors and façade systems of existing buildings," says Cremer. "By recycling these systems high-quality and within Europe, damage at the extraction site, depletion of non-renewable resources, consumption of non-renewable energy as well as greenhouse gas emissions are significantly reduced. Without sacrificing quality and material properties."
Meanwhile, almost the entire SAPA range for BeNeLux is produced with Hydro CIRCAL 75R, he says. "For TENTAL, even 100% Hydro CIRCAL 75R is used, in combination with insulators made of recycled plastic and environmentally friendly rubbers. Upon request, we can perform real-time LCA calculations, demonstrating TENTAL's low CO2 emissions at the project level."
SAPA TENTAL is available to order as of today.
