As indoor and outdoor spaces increasingly merge, there is a growing need for smart, atmospheric lighting. At in-lite, it's all about light, of course, but also about ease of use and integration. With new products and technological advances, the company is demonstrating how outdoor lighting is evolving into a fully-fledged part of the smart home.
Creative Manager Vincent Neven talks about the latest addition to the range: BREEZE. “This is a floor lamp for placing among plants, similar in design to SWAY in terms of its slender form, with the same stem but a different head,” he explains. “What makes it special is the way the light behaves: it gradually becomes brighter and then dims again in a calm, gentle manner. Each lamp has its own frequency, which means that the light is no longer static. You see the lamp as if it were
breathing truth.”
According to Neven, BREEZE adds a new layer of experience to the garden. “The focus is on subtle dynamics, not showmanship. The light interacts with its surroundings. And although the lamp can be controlled via the in-lite app, this is not a requirement. The basic experience is pure and self-evident.”
Over the past five years, in-lite has continuously focused on the further development of its smart system, including the SMART HUB – the heart of all smart functions. “We started in 2020 and have been expanding ever since,” says Neven. “Our app allows you to set scenes, dim lights, adjust colors, and save energy. This year, we are adding SMART HUB-75, specially designed for small gardens and patios. This means that users can now enjoy all the smart features in compact outdoor spaces without paying top dollar.”
In addition to the new SMART HUB-75, the existing 150 and 300 variants will remain available for larger projects. This ensures that there is a suitable solution for every project.
SMART BRIDGE forms the link between Bluetooth and the internet and makes it possible to control lighting worldwide. But the real step forward lies in its integration with home automation systems. “Home automation is an increasingly important factor in future projects,” says Senior LAB Specialist Bronos Polders. “If you set this up properly, you now have a solid system, but you can also benefit from future developments. Now that we have links with Matter systems and KNX, outdoor lighting is becoming an integral part of the smart home.”
According to Polders, integration with KNX is a logical development. “KNX is the global standard for building automation. With SMART BRIDGE and the right Gira products, you can easily connect the entire system. This allows the lighting to not only respond automatically to time, movement, or seasons, but also to blend seamlessly into the rest of the smart home network.”
For the first time, in-lite will be present at Light + Building in Frankfurt. “We will be showcasing everything we are currently discussing: the new products, the integration with KNX, and the further development of our smart system,” says Neven. “Until now, we have not specifically focused on lighting trade fairs, but this is the right time to show where outdoor lighting is heading.” With this step, in-lite is underlining its position as an innovative player in the professional lighting segment.
