Dismantling, demolition, disposal, installing new timber, and then installing aluminum window frames. Peter Boeters of Boeters Alubo from De Lier: "We finished it all off with aluminum angle lines, which we neatly connected to the stucco and wallpaper. We completed the renovation of the Seinpostduin apartment complex in Scheveningen within a year. Not an everyday job for us, but a great one."
The renovation of the 63 houses of apartment complex Seinpostduin was one of their larger projects for Boeters Alubo. John Mertens of Boeters Alubo: "We are an aluminum processing company and handle common projects up to 500 square meters. We manufacture and assemble aluminum windows and doors for the business market and deliver directly to a contractor or to an Association of Owners (VvE)."
Nico van Dam of Boeters Alubo: "Matrona is the administrator of VvE Seinpostduin and in the past we were already involved in this renovation project through the architect. Unfortunately developments came to a standstill, but with subsidies and loans provided to the VvE the building underwent an upgrade after all. The replacement of all aluminum window frames, including the installation of lintels and daylight edging, was part of the overall project where sustainability was the main focus. In the preliminary phase, we already had a good click with Matrona, the administrator of the VvE. We discussed our architectural advice and explained our offers. It ultimately resulted in a contract."
Says Boeters, "It is our strength, because we are strong in residential, commercial and renovation projects.
By the way, aluminum is a more luxurious product, slimmer in terms of profiling than, say, plastic or wood. It appeals to many architects; after all, they want to see as much glass as possible and few profiles. You can also make sliding doors in large sizes, which is usually not possible with other materials. In addition to these advantages, several aspects play an important role; aluminum is elegant, low-maintenance and it lasts a lifetime."
The active thinking and looking along is what sets Boeters Alubo apart, according to Mertens. "We advise clients, make calculations and together we look at how we can come up with applications that lead to improvements or savings. The contact with our client makes the work so much fun; carefully bringing in the work with the right arguments. Every project is different, where we take and bear our responsibility from beginning to end."
Boeters: We came very briefly out of our comfort zone with the Seinpostduin Scheveningen project, but we were very happy to do so!"
