Cosentino, known for its innovative material solutions for the kitchen industry, offers a wider range of applications and launches a new concept in the world of bathroom design. At Architect@Work, the company presented wall and floor finishes and products from the new C-Bath bathroom collection, as well as the latest Silestone Le Chic collection, among others.
Cosentino has its roots firmly in the kitchen industry, but is striving to become just as important in bathroom design, says Project Manager Alexander Callaghan. "The bathroom is also an important part of the home, where you want to be; it's more than a functional space. Our material doesn't stop at a kitchen countertop. The bathroom offers numerous possibilities. You can clad a lot, basically everything except the toilet, although of course a back wall is also an option."
Sustainability is a top priority at Cosentino. The company offers three main material lines for architecture and design: Dekton, Silestone and Sensa. "Dekton is a sophisticated blend of more than 20 high-quality, natural minerals. The material is carbon-neutral over its entire, very long, lifespan. In addition, it is cradle-to-grave, and lends itself extremely well to bathroom design. Silestone is a quartz composite, which is colored through and through and produced in part with recycled materials. This makes it perfect for sophisticated finishes such as edges and the sinks in the C-Bath collection."
All of Cosentino's materials are included the C-Bath concept. "They absolutely lend themselves to application in the bathroom, in part because large dimensions are possible for the floors and wall coverings. This creates a calm appearance, with fewer joints and therefore less cleaning work."
To launch the collection, Cosentino collaborated with well-known designers for the inspiration concept "The Bathelier. The concept embodies their vision of an experiential space and the ideal bathroom of the future. "In addition to tiles for wall and floor coverings, C-Bath also includes sinks and shower trays. They are made in our own custom factory. This also allows us to offer high-quality, customized solutions that meet the specific needs of our customers."
Also on display at Architect@Work was the ultra-compact stone collection: Dekton® Pietra Kode. Pietra Kode, for which Cosentino partnered with designer and architect Daniel Germani, reinterprets the timeless beauty of three classic Italian stones: Vicenza, Travertin and Ceppo di Gré and executes them in Dekton. Thanks to the carbon-neutral material, the collection can be used in an almost unlimited number of indoor and outdoor applications.
Cosentino has certainly not been idle this year. In fact, the company also introduced the Silestone collections Urban Crush and Le Chic. "Urban Crush is a collection full of color and design inspired by the heartbeat of the city and urban trends," says Alexander. "This stylish collection, reminiscent of limestone and sandstone, consists of four colors: Lime Delight, Concrete Pulse, Brass Relish and Cinder Craze."
Urban Crush is produced with the HybriQ+® technology, which means a more sustainable production process with 99% recycled water, 100% electrical energy from renewable sources and at least 20% recycled materials in the composition. The very latest Le Chic collection consists of very large slabs with beading in them. "With these, we want to create a stone effect with a natural shimmer, also in the veins," says Dr. K. K., who is a member of the company's staff.
