The Centor folding door system has it all. Burghouwt is importer of the originally Australian folding door system that provides a completely free passage on the facade - without disturbing elements. Burghouwt supplies Centor to carpentry factories and contractors as a complete system solution. Rob van Baars, commercial manager at Burghouwt: "From the living room straight onto the terrace or into the garden, that is possible with the Centor folding door system. With a Centor façade, inside and outside merge seamlessly. Centor's folding method offers free passage, panoramic views and lots of extra daylight in the interior.
Centor distinguishes itself from all other sliding and folding systems for façades. Centor thus provides architects with special design possibilities and end users with added value in the form of a special room experience. Not only at home, but also in the workplace. "The robust quality of the Australian folding door system lends itself perfectly to intensive use in a business or office environment, in stores and catering establishments," says Van Baars.
Burghouwt is importer for the Benelux of the Centor folding door system. The wholesaler with headquarters in Arnhem supplies carpentry factories with the complete Centor system as a package, including guides, door rollers, hinges, locks and edge sliders. "This way Burghouwt relieves carpentry factories with a high-quality system solution that is easy to assemble," explains Van Baars. "Customers have a choice between a top-hung folding door system (with E3 and E4 hardware) and the bottom-hung variant (with F3 hardware)."
The underfloor solution offers a number of advantages. For example, heavy supporting structures are unnecessary. With the F3 fittings, Centor can also be used in facades with skylights, in additions and interior fronts. n this variant, the Centor folding system lends itself to a door scheme of up to sixteen doors measuring 1.00 meters wide, 2.70 meters high and weighing 80 kilograms.
Van Baars explains, "For the inside-folding, bottom-rolling F3 hardware, we developed a new aluminum lower sill, equipped with a special construction for the discharge of (mop) water to the outside."
For carpentry shops, Burghouwt supplies Centor's folding wall system with the in-house
developed BA2000 - a "joinery-friendly" closure with an attractive knob cylinder.
The folding door system also has a lot to offer aesthetically. Not for nothing did the Australian facade solution win the internationally highly regarded Red Dot Design Award. With robust, durable and attractive oak (treated or untreated) inside and sleek and low-maintenance aluminum outside. In 2019, Centor's elegant S4 sun and insect protection was also awarded a Red Dot Award.
"With the E3 hardware, the maximum door height for the Centor folding door system is 3.6 meters. The maximum door width is 1.2 meters. The maximum permissible door weight is as much as 115 kilograms. That gives clients and users all the leeway they need to tailor a facade to their own wishes and requirements, for example, when it comes to the best door division or the use of triple glazing," says Van Baars.
Centor doors slide on a rail to the far edges of the frame, where the doors fold compactly together. This creates a seamless free passage in the façade. Centor doors can fold inward or outward. The guide system is low-maintenance, quiet and light to operate. The system is wind and watertight and easily adjustable. Centor can also be used as a partition wall in interiors.
"For joinery factories, Burghouwt supplies Centor's folding wall system with the in-house developed BA2000 - a 'joinery-friendly' latch with an attractive knob cylinder. This allows carpentry factories to use the Centor system simply and effectively for their own doors," Van Baars says in conclusion.
