Pluspoint RiverEvent 2026 is once again setting its sights on (interior) architects

With stops in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, RiverEvent remains committed to quality, inspiration, and personal encounters

In a trade show landscape where events are getting bigger and bigger, Pluspoint RiverEvent has consciously chosen a different approach. In 2026, this exclusive event concept will once again dock in various cities across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. Aboard the luxurious event ship Blue Rhapsody, architects, interior designers, project developers, and other decision-makers will discover the latest innovations in the construction and interior design sectors in a relaxed atmosphere.

According to founder Raymond Scheepers, Pluspoint RiverEvent was born out of a clear need in the market: “Architects today have little time. They want to learn about new products, find inspiration, and make relevant connections—preferably in an efficient and enjoyable way. That formed the basis for RiverEvent.”

Architects should have the opportunity to actually engage in conversation with exhibitors.

Efficient and well-organized

The concept stands out from traditional trade shows because of its streamlined layout. While visitors to large trade show floors often have to sift through hundreds of booths, RiverEvent brings together a carefully selected group of about 75 exhibitors.

“We don’t believe that bigger is automatically better,” says Scheepers. “Architects need to have the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with exhibitors. That’s why we’ve deliberately chosen a high-quality, well-organized format.” Thanks to the compact layout, visitors can gain a broad overview of new materials, building systems, technical innovations, and interior design applications in a relatively short amount of time.

Three countries, nine cities

Pluspoint RiverEvent takes place aboard the Blue Rhapsody. Over three consecutive days, the ship sails through three cities in each country. In Belgium, the RiverEvent stops in Ghent, Antwerp, and Brussels (September 22–23–24). Next up are Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Den Bosch in the Netherlands (September 29–30 and October 1). Germany is also back on the itinerary, with events in Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Frankfurt.

The result is a unique formula that brings the same high-quality trade show experience to different regions, close to where visitors work. And it’s completely free for visitors.

In addition to product discovery, the overall experience is also a key focus.

A broad cross-section of the construction industry

The lineup of exhibitors reflects the full breadth of the construction and interior design market. Visitors will discover innovations in facades, building envelopes, and finishes—ranging from construction technology to interior design. Scheepers: “Architecture emerges from the interplay between materials, techniques, and design. That is why we strive for a balanced mix of exhibitors that is relevant to the entire design process. Although the basic format remains the same in every country, the lineup is tailored to the local market and the manufacturers present.”

Sustainability as a common thread

Today, sustainability is no longer a separate issue but an integral part of product development. Scheepers notes this as well: “For the majority of exhibitors, energy efficiency, circularity, material optimization, or CO₂ reduction are central themes. These are topics that play a role in virtually every construction project today.”

More Than Just a Trade Show Visit

In addition to product discovery, the focus is also on the experience. RiverEvent combines free professional networking opportunities with a relaxed atmosphere, high-quality catering, and space for networking. For many visitors, this makes the event an attractive alternative to traditional trade shows.

With its combination of innovation, face-to-face interactions, and hospitality, RiverEvent will once again prove in 2026 that a trade show doesn’t have to get bigger to make a bigger impact. “We want architects to go home with new insights, interesting contacts, and concrete inspiration for future projects—but also with a sense of culinary satisfaction. Ultimately, that’s what Pluspoint RiverEvent is all about,” concludes Raymond Scheepers.
