ARCHITECT@WORK Rotterdam 2026 is coming soon: discover ‘Regenerative Architecture’

On September 9 and 10, 2026, the 11th edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Rotterdam will take place at Rotterdam Ahoy. The event brings together architects, interior designers, and other specifiers to explore innovation, inspiration, and a carefully curated collection of innovative products and materials.

‘Regenerative Architecture’ as the central theme

This edition focuses on ‘Regenerative Architecture’: a design approach that goes beyond merely limiting negative impacts and actively contributes to the restoration and strengthening of ecosystems, communities, and natural resources. Architecture is viewed as part of a larger system that brings together elements such as ecology, energy, water, materials, and biodiversity.

Knowledge Sharing and Inspiration

The A@W ACADEMY offers a diverse program featuring lectures by, among others, Werkstatt, Buro Harro, BNI, FAAM Architects, White Arkitekter, and 1op1 Academy. They explore current topics in architecture and regenerative design from various perspectives.

The supporting program also aligns with the central theme. The Regenerative Biobased Exhibit by SuperBio’s brings together biobased materials and products from local makers. The Project Wall by Studio Marco Vermeulen features “The Generous Facade – Biobased and Nature-Inclusive,” which brings together circularity, design freedom, and biodiversity. Natrufied Architecture showcases four projects that illustrate regenerative design in practice.

In addition, visual artist Jonas Vansteenkiste offers an artistic reflection on architecture, housing, and memory through *House Cluster #1* and *A House Is Not a Home (Housetrap)*. NAi Boekverkopers will once again be present with a selection of books on architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, and spatial planning.
