Nidum in Grave is a source of inspiration for everything: shops and showrooms including furniture, art, coffee, wine, tiles and flooring. It is a small sample of the collaborative partners, housed at the historic site the Arsenal. Director and co-owner Lonneke van der Weyden: "Perhaps a wooden floor or a designer bed is the trigger, but soon the custom-made furniture, Carina Wagenaar's life-size medallions, Micky Hoogendijk's art or our coffee and wine partners will help determine the conversation."

The founders of Nidum are Lonneke van der Weyden and Aard Keijser, owners of interior design company Keijser&Co. Van der Weyden: "We invent, design and supply tables, chairs, cabinets, coffee tables, sofas and bar tables completely custom-made and provided with a fabric of your choice. We work with architects and interior stylists and also focus on the hospitality market such as offices, restaurants and hotels."
Van der Weyden continues, "The company was growing out of space and we started looking for premises where we could open the showroom every day of the week. When we were actually almost ready with the plans for a new building, the Arsenal came our way. After a tour we were immediately sold. It is a building with charm; large with beautiful light and high ceilings of up to six meters. After the purchase, we first had to thoroughly renovate the building and built a new modern entrance, which is a nice contrast to the monumental part. In addition to our own showroom, we also rent spaces to our partners who specialize in products such as lighting, acoustic wall panels, flooring, pianos, images and sound, wall finishes, coffee, gardens or beds. Nidum is slated to open in November 2021."

Nidum is accessible to the architect and his client, but also the end user walks in easily. Van der Weyden: "A jeweler who wants to renew his store, furnishing an entire vacation home in Marbella or a villa in the Netherlands or designing just a living room. The selection is large and the products are available in different styles; from classic to modern or a mix thereof. To ensure that customers get a good feel for their choices, we have specially set up the Architects' Lab. It is a place where our partners are happy to advise and think along with us. In this way, they manage to find matching curtains for the wooden floor they have just chosen or match the kitchen table and chairs with a marble countertop. During an appointment with the partners, professional advice is provided, after which both the interior design professional and the consumer can make a good choice."
Van der Weyden: "Everywhere in the building you get ideas and inspiration. For example, we furnished restaurant Ovum with lighting, furniture and flooring from Nidum's partners, among other things. The bar top and wall finishes are also available in the house of inspiration. In the summer of 2022, we expect to open Nidum Boutique Hotel. The six rooms will be decorated by different interior designers with the partners' products and services. Thus, they can also be used as experience rooms. The boutique hotel will complete the experience of Nidum."
