The durable aluminum façade elements PREFA SIDINGS and PREFA SIDING.X are available in a wide and varied range of colors, shapes, lengths and widths. This allows architects to use the sidings in any layout scheme and provide even more customization. Especially now that PREFA SIDINGS - in addition to the existing widths of 138, 200, 300 and 400 mm - are also available in widths of up to 500 and 600 mm.

The various components, such as the roof, facade, drainage and accessories are perfectly matched, says Area Sales Manager Tom Vanhandenhove. In all directions

In both traditional and modern facades, PREFA SIDINGS are now among the classics. "With the invisible fixing of the tongue and groove system, they can be laid horizontally, vertically or diagonally and in cross or wild bond," says Vanhandenhove. "The completely flat sidings are designed as a pre-installed ventilated façade. This means that there is a ventilated space between the supporting structure and the PREFA aluminum facade in which air can circulate. This prevents moisture problems in walls. Thanks to the unique installation technology, strong gusts of wind or heavy rain do not affect the facade. Also, the color remains intact under all weather conditions."

Unprecedented design freedom

With PREFA SIDINGS, architects are guaranteed unprecedented design freedom. In the extensive color palette (with 21 standard colors), a facade color can always be found to match the windows and doors of the residential or commercial building. In addition, lengths from 500 to 6,200 mm are possible, in combination with widths of 138, 200, 300, 400 and, since the beginning of this year, even 500 and 600 mm. 

"Thanks to the larger widths, larger projects with larger facade areas can also be served, while keeping the aesthetic ratio correct," Vanhandenhove said. "In addition, installation is significantly faster. The wide color palette, the extensive design possibilities and the combination of large and small formats make it possible to modernize any facade in a unique way. The application of shadow and cross joints takes these possibilities to the very highest level."

Aluminum combines extremely well with other building materials, such as concrete, glass or wood, he emphasizes. "Wooden elements are very popular for facades because of their warm, authentic appearance. For those who do not like weathered wood and do not want to paint the facade regularly, PREFA SIDINGS in walnut brown, oak gray and natural oak are an excellent solution. They approximate the look of wood while offering the strength and ease of maintenance of aluminum. Other popular colors include anthracite, silver metallic, patina gray, bronze, PREFA white and pure white."

Beautiful shadow effect

A few years ago, the PREFA SIDING.X was also introduced. This aluminum facade panel is also designed as a pre-inserted ventilated facade, but is distinguished by a special 3D line pattern.

Vanhandenhove: "PREFA SIDING.X gives the facade an optically interesting and modern appearance. Regardless of whether the siding is laid vertically, horizontally, diagonally and in cross or wild bond. The facade can be completely prefinished to size, thanks to an installation scheme with or without a 12 mm shadow joint." 

With its extraordinary chamfers and striking longitudinal and transverse edges, PREFA SIDING.X provides more stability as well as a unique look to any building. "In addition, the specific folds create an attractive shadow play. Thanks to the irregularly designed surfaces, the facade takes on a different appearance depending on the incidence of light, the environment and the time of day. This allows us to create unique effects."
