The world of Anker Stuy is one of color and paint, but also of people. With Emile and Armand Stuy, the third generation of Stuy is now at the helm of the Frisian family business, which gives color to every project. "With our special products we supply paint systems to protect and beautify almost any surface," says Emile Stuy. "All products are made with passion and respect for people and the environment. Short lines of communication guarantee a flexible and warm cooperation. Moreover, customers are assured of a very high service."
Anker Stuy's primers and undercoats, system paints, lacquer paints, stains, spray paints, clearcoats, two-component systems and topcoats are supplied in three segments: (1) building paints for in and around the house, (2) paints for the carpentry and staircase industry, and (3) paints for furniture and interior builders.
"Among other things, the products stand out on a technical level," Stuy says. "At our factory in Terwispel, we mix the color pigments ourselves into color pastes, which are then added to the base paints. This allows us to guarantee a high and long-lasting color quality comparable to the automotive industry. Color and gloss degradation are hardly an issue. In addition, the paints have excellent adhesion."
Also distinctive is wood's low water absorption, which minimizes shrinkage and swelling, he says.
"Sustainable innovations are in our genes. For example, we have developed a specific line of bio-based primer and lacquer paints, with 70% raw materials from renewable sources. We are also actively looking for new functionalities. Current examples include antimicrobial paints that combine high-performance paint technologies with optimal mold and/or bacteria resistance. But also LED-curing oils for the parquet industry. Special in the future would be the possible addition of tiny solar beads in paints, which would allow surfaces to also function as solar energy generators. This is how we make paint special."
With the so-called Waarborg paint products, Anker Stuy offers up to 12 years warranty on maintenance-free paintwork. "At the moment we are working hard on a digital module for warranty applications and certificates, with which architects, carpentry factories and contractor parties can easily calculate the warranty of their facade elements," Stuy said. "In addition, we recently founded a new company, Anker Stuy Composites, which focuses specifically on styrene- and emission-free gel coatings for composite materials."
