"Acoustic panels Microperfo, with digital printing blue fingers mural, placed at entrance of largest guarded bicycle parking in Zwolle, Netherlands "
Zwolle is a well-known cycling city in the Netherlands. With the completed works in 2022 of a completely redesigned station square and an underground bicycle parking facility designed by Kraaijvanger Architects and executed by Boskalis, the Municipality of Zwolle (in cooperation with the province of Overijssel , ProRail and NS) has strengthened its image as an attractive bicycle region.
With space for storage of 5800 bicycles, this is also the largest underground guarded bicycle shed in the BeNeLux. The bicycle shed is designed as an urban basement but with good overview and abundant light for optimal comfort and safety. An acoustic micro-perforated wall from Print Acoustics by Triplaco in entrance ash provides a very pleasant conversation climate in this space.
In the guarded lock (underground entrance and exit for cyclists) there is a special mural with blue fingers on one side, designed by creative agency Silo. This agency developed a spatial identity that fits the location and creates a recognizable Zwolle look. The result is a design of a Zwolle resident cycling against the wind, made up of hundreds of thousands of blue fingerprints (after all, the Zwolle resident's nickname is blauwvinger).
This digital design was digitally printed by Print Acoustics on their acoustic panels type M , top layer HPL 0.9mm white Abet Laminati, with micro perforations dia 1.1mm hoh 3mm holes for correction of reverberation (alpha w 0.85) in this pressure sas. Thanks to top layer HPL 0.9mm, these panels are impact resistant and washable, and due to the high-quality acoustic water-resistant black MDF core, these panels are also stable as a wall application in this underground space.
