Design and functionality that go hand in hand
Lighting facades beautifully, how exactly do you do that? Performance in Lighting offers different types of fixtures to light up facades and add accents, from the facade itself, or from the ground. In case of choice stress, the company is also always available to provide any project with the right advice.
The international group Performance in Lighting has been developing lighting for professional applications for more than 45 years. The wide range is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Account Manager Jeroen Appelhof: "For example, there is the surface-mounted Mimik series, with which you can create beautiful string lighting accents. However, you can also illuminate the sidewalk or terrace with fixtures from this collection. For example, there are models that you can place on a pole."
The ultra-slim lighting fixtures for the facade can be perfectly integrated into this. In fact, the lights have a minimalist design and a thickness of only a few centimeters. "A cover, available as an accessory, allows architects to cover the installation with any material of their choice, for example with the wood or stone from which the façade is constructed. In this way, Mimik truly becomes a chameleon, blending in with the facade. The architect or contractor can do this themselves."
Mimik can shine one way or both ways. "It's a very popular series that is used both indoors and outdoors," said Dr. K. Mimik.
Building lighting into the facade is of course also possible. For this, Performance in Lighting offers the Insert+ series, among others. "This is a nice functional fixture. By placing it low in the wall, you can use it to beautifully illuminate a path. This series is complementary to Mimik, and is based on the idea that orientation and safety can also be quite beautiful!"
The incorporation of lighting requires careful thought. "Here we can of course help architects, because recessed lighting is sometimes complex. However, it also has many advantages, because it is not possible or desirable to place bollards at every walkway." The Insert+ collection consists of wall-mounted fixtures for indoor and outdoor use and is available in four sizes.
"Our highlight is Traccia, a recessed luminaire for in ground lighting," says Appelhof. "The fixture has a unique beam orientation mechanism for lighting small, large or very large areas. This makes the fixture flexible so you can light very specifically with this. Sometimes you can't place the fixture in the perfect spot, but with Traccia you still achieve the desired result. It is a very popular fixture, whose light color is also flexible. In addition, the product features anti-glare strips and can be dimmed with Dali. Not unimportant; Traccia is easy to incorporate into paving."
Performance in Lighting provides architects and contractors with no-obligation lighting advice and calculations when requested. "We are very happy to share the knowledge about our fixtures. If necessary, we can give other insights, about the choice of the type of luminaire and about small adjustments with which the client can achieve a result that is even more eye-catching."
