For 30 years, Fasttel has been a leader in the development of design intercom systems with or without camera, which can be integrated into the customer's telephone network. "Our in-house developed and manufactured systems can not only be connected to the existing (cordless) telephones, but also to our own video indoor stations as well as to the smartphone," said Pieter van Opbergen, DGA of Fasttel Netherlands.
"This allows users anywhere in the world to talk to whoever is at the door and also to open the door if necessary. A separate indoor station is not necessarily necessary."
Fasttel's Wizard door intercoms find eager acceptance in all buildings with a gate and/or locked front door. From industrial premises to offices, healthcare buildings and luxury homes. From the end of this year, Fasttel also offers a unique and very complete solution for apartment buildings.
"Thanks to our door intercom systems, users always and everywhere know who is at the door. Moreover, they can control access control with one simple push of a button," Van Opbergen emphasizes. "In most buildings, door intercom systems are used by one or a few users. However, the challenge arises with more users. Systems with large numbers of addressed push buttons must always be wired to the internal stations of - in this case - the occupants. This extensive wiring infrastructure presents major challenges for installers. Especially in existing buildings. The Fasttel Wizard App@rtment offers a unique solution for this. We are also introducing a full-IP door intercom system, with or without a camera, which can be operated intuitively, for larger numbers of residents."
Basically, the Wizard App@rtment is available in two versions: FT2520 for buildings with up to 20 users and FT2599 for buildings with up to 999 users. Whereas the Wizard App@rtment FT2520 uses a clear display with alphabetical scrolling function, for the Wizard App@rtment FT2599 is chosen for entering the first letters of a name or direct apartment selection (e.g. 013).
In keeping with all of Fasttel's door intercom systems, with the Wizard App@rtment, all intelligence is integrated into the door intercom. "The system comes with a standard built-in SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) server; a protocol to enable reliable multimedia communication," said Van Opbergen, who went on to clarify, "If you want to reach someone via the door intercom system on their landline or cell phone, you always need a SIP server (or: telephone system) to do this. By registering all residents as SIP clients, they automatically become part of the system. Then, through a simple Internet connection, the SIP server is connected to all devices. Open ports on the router are not an issue, guaranteeing optimal security."
When a visitor presses the door intercom call button, the system automatically waits for the dial tone from the telephone system. "Once the connection is established, the resident always sees on screen that the call is coming from his front door. Regardless of where he is at that moment. He can then remotely answer the call, speak to the visitor and, if necessary, open the front door. When there is a hang-up, the system recognizes the frequency of the hang-up tone and automatically disconnects the call."
As desired, residents can receive calls on their existing (cordless) phones, smartphones (with Fasttel app and video) or an indoor station with or without video. Up to 10 devices can be linked per apartment, Van Opbergen said. "Thanks to a possible second camera inside, visitors or deliverers can be closely followed in their doings. And all over the apartment's own Internet connection!"
In addition to apartments, the Wizard App@rtment lends itself perfectly to nursing homes or multi-tenant buildings, where multiple residents or companies use one central and locked entrance. In the system, users can easily be added or removed (remotely, via the web page), creating a very future-proof system. The door intercom is optionally available in aluminum (gray) or black anodized.
