13th Benelux Thermal Galvanizing Trophy 2021 - Nominees

Hot-dip galvanizing offers designers and clients many advantages. Especially the long life and ease of maintenance are important assets of this preservation system. Moreover, designers appreciate the beautiful aging process of hot-dip galvanized steel, which actually only gets more beautiful with age.

THREE CATEGORIES

Since the 2019 edition, the Trophy subscribes to the philosophy of the SEATTLE ZINC campaign in which a distinction is made between Functional Galvanizing and Aesthetic Galvanizing. In addition, a separate category has been created for Duplex (galvanizing + coating).
After careful consideration, the judges arrived at the following nominations:

Category ESTHETICIZING (19 projects)

Nominated: Le Delta
Nominated: Melopee

DUPLEX SYSTEMS category (16 projects)

Nominated: Streamlined assembly hall for Sonaca Aircraft
Nominated: Goddeeris
Nominated: Canopy bus station in The Hague
Nominated: Paddenbroek
Nominated: Station canopy Mechelen NMBS

The nominated projects will now advance to the second and final round on April 30, where the jury will choose one laureate per category.

All submitted projects will be widely featured in a book that will be delivered to all submitters and stakeholders. There will also be a digital edition of the Zinkinfo Magazine featuring all participating projects from the competition. On the website of Zinkinfo Benelux is a page dedicated to each project.

Zinkinfo believes it is incredibly important for the construction industry to put its weight behind the circular economy. Circular construction should be promoted, and for that reason, an award will also be given on April 30 to a project that explicitly subscribes to the philosophy of circular construction.
