180 m2 of inspiration for unique metal facades

Feeling, seeing and experiencing exciting product combinations

The choice in metal façade systems is endless. In addition to material, size and color, the profiling and coating have a major influence on how users and passers-by experience a building. That is why it is important not to take any chances when designing the façade, but to be well informed and inspired. This can be done, for example, in ArcelorMittal Construction's Experience Center in Tiel, where fully assembled façade sections, small- and large-format samples, a variety of materials and an extensive range of coatings, colors and finishes will stimulate the architect's creativity to the maximum.

Spread over some 180 m2, visitors are stimulated by everything that is possible now and in the future.

With its Experience Center, specialist in metal cladding products ArcelorMittal Construction offers architects and other interested parties a unique glimpse into its kitchen. "Our Experience Center is open to anyone looking for unique architectural facades. Spread over some 180 m2, visitors are stimulated by everything that is possible now and in the future," says Levi Kleinjan, manager Special Façades at ArcelorMittal Construction. "Both in materials (prepainted steel, stainless steel, aluminum, weather-resistant steel, ...), profiles, colors and fixings. Architects will find completely assembled facade parts of prominent projects here, such as the new Van der Valk Hotel Delft A4 in Den Hoorn and the new Royal Mint building in Houten. But also inspiring project photos, including details and peculiarities. What is also unique is that we show the materials of, for example, Trespa, Eurolacke and Alucobond, so that architects can feel, see and experience exciting product combinations. In this way we create a total facade image. Together with the architect, we like to develop new and surprising facades, which we can also produce in-house. In doing so, we do not shy away from any challenge."

Multifunctional Experience Center

"The main purpose of the Experience Center is to inform architects," Kleinjan emphasizes. "But by now we see that the space is also very interesting for other purposes. For example, training sessions are regularly held here for (new) employees, about production, safety and assembly, for example. The Experience Center is also very interesting for job applicants and business contacts, who can see at a glance who we are and what great things we can make (together). We have also recently started providing presentations and training for students and architectural firms. They can also take a tour of our production department, where over 40 employees bring the most beautiful designs to fruition using 14 modern machines."

Dreams come to life

About three to four architects walk into ArcelorMittal Construction each week to see the latest developments. "However, most architects come by appointment," Kleinjan says. "In this case, we make sure the right product specialist is at the table. Based on initial sketches or ideas, we also lay out some material and color samples in advance. We have a comfortable meeting room with a large touch screen, on which notes can be shared immediately. We also have a complete whiteboard wall on which innovative ideas can be visualized. Combined with more than 500 product samples, color samples and details - from corner solutions to window connections, drip sills and eaves - we can design the building facade of everyone's dream step by step."

Almost all architects leave the showroom with one or more facade samples, including color samples. "On this basis, they can not only refine their design, but also include their client and the Planning Inspectorate in the plans," Kleinjan said. "Thanks to our in-house production, we can already shape new ideas into a physical test piece, on the basis of which the best choices can be made."
