Anyone who visits Metrostation Opera in Antwerp literally enters the dream of architect Manuel De Solà-Morales. The design expresses itself in curved, transparent forms. This creates a spatial image with beautiful organically designed accents. Van den Beemd BV signed for the assembly and mounting. The specially shaped glass balustrades were made possible thanks to OnLevel GmbH.
Erwin Stegenga of OnLevel says, "The balustrade profiles in curved form complement the straight profiles well. In combination with the curved glass, a beautiful interplay of lines is created. But most importantly, this design is not only very beautiful to see, but also strong enough to apply in a busy public pedestrian area."
Anyone who visits Metrostation Opera in Antwerp literally enters the dream of architect
Manuel De Solà-Morales rightly.
"That's how you can safely describe 'The attika model,'" Stegenga says of the TL-6500 profiles. "This glass mounting profile can handle large loads despite its very modest dimensions. The model for floor mounting is especially suitable for use on wall-like elevations of the exterior wall, above the eaves. This profile can withstand a linear load of 0.5 kN and can have glass thicknesses between 12.76 mm and 17.52 mm."
The attika model is low maintenance and features the ONLEVEL FLEXFIT glass mounting system. An extension pin channel is also present in the profile, as well as drainage openings.
With Top Cover Horizontal, OnLevel adds a beautiful finishing profile to its already complete range. Stegenga explains: "The profile provides a smooth transition between the glass mounting profile and the floor behind. A 2-mm metal plate can be slid into the profile, with two Top Cover Horizontal variants to choose from: the 1.0 kN version and the 3.0 kN version. In both cases, the trade length of the profile is 5 meters."
It couldn't wait after the success of the Kronos glass clamp: OnLevel now presents a square variant. The Kronos Square has the same strong mounting properties for glass, but in terms of design it fits better with the more cubist architectural styles. "You can see that design is leaning more toward geometric shapes lately. Those who like everything to match each other in detail will choose the Kronos Square," says Stegenga.
"The Kronos Square comes in three surface treatments, namely stainless steel 316, galvanized steel and in a RAL color of your choice. In RAL, the customer has an additional choice of gloss, matte or textured finish. The Kronos Square has the dimensions 65 mm length x 45 mm height."
When asked if there is any other news to report from Emmerich, Stegenga replied, "Interesting to know is that SkyForce is being incorporated into the Orgadata software package. Staying in the digital corner, it is good to know that our own website is also being renewed. Customers are expected to see the final result in June of this year. Last but not least, our new catalog is coming! It is scheduled for release in May 2020."
