"Finally a trade show in the Netherlands that is really about light," says Senior Product Manager Henk Schaap of Unlumited Lighting Solutions. "We are happy to contribute to Future Lighting. Here we want to get in touch with even more lighting architects and show what is possible with our products."

Unlumited is led by lighting and lighting technology enthusiasts, with years of experience in the industry. "We specialize in various LED lighting categories, focusing on application and solution orientation, light quality and service life," begins Henk. "The fact that we take the ideas from the architectural lighting market as our starting point sets us apart. We call this: lighting, your way. Our customers tell us what their requirements are, and we deliver a solution tailored to their specific needs. We love nothing more than tinkering with lighting to create the perfect fit. Looking for a unique enclosure? Need a custom lighting scene? We provide it. This flexibility is possible because our assembly takes place in the Netherlands."

Collaboration is very important to Unlumited. "We join forces with experts in their respective fields to provide what our customers need. These include partners in 3D engineering, lighting calculation, and of course the installers." 

Anyone professionally involved with lighting is welcome to visit the company's LIC Light Inspiration Center. "Here a nice synergy is created and we can show lighting architects, among other things, that we also produce digital light files for lighting plans, something few companies can do." 

All details custom realized

Unlumited is going further and further in offering custom lighting. "We have some demo cases available, containing different profiles and color swatches. We use these in our conversation with the customer. What fits the project best? Is it recessed, surface-mounted, or pendant? What light image is desired? We can realize all these details to order. We want to move toward providing Look & Feel sessions for architects as well, so they can see and feel the materials for themselves."

At a trade show like Future Lighting, the lighting specialist gauges what is going on in the market. For example, Henk notes that the purity of aluminum for decorative lighting is becoming increasingly important. "Purer aluminum is easier to recycle and has better thermal properties. For LED lighting, this is very important. This contributes to the lifespan of the fixtures."

In Gorinchem, Unlumited also shares new products and lighting knowledge with visitors. "For example, we show our contour lighting. These are light strips of professional quality that fit the trend of taking outdoor lighting more seriously. This contour lighting is particularly suitable for this purpose and can handle harsh conditions. There are exceptionally many possibilities, think of bending directions and colors." 

The line lighting has been used for such projects as the Valley office and residential tower in Amsterdam. "We supplied the custom-made light lines from our partner Clear, ready for installation. The light lines are integrated into several beautiful granite blocks and really come to life, especially at night. The way the light shines makes some granite blocks look like they are floating. With these projects, we also provide technical support so that the lighting continues to function for years."
