With the launch of Future Lighting last year, an important step was taken to bring new possibilities of light and lighting to a wider audience. International event organizer Easyfairs joined forces with industry associations NSVV, Groen Licht Vlaanderen and IBE-BIV to create a niche event specifically for lighting professionals in the Dutch and Belgian markets.
And that has worked out well! Because, for two days, on November 22 & 23, 2023, architects, building owners, installers and other lighting professionals will be updated on new developments in the field. The event, which features a high-quality content program and an expo with 60 leading market parties, will be organized in Next Level of Evenementenhal Gorinchem.
Irma de Hoon, Business Unit Director of Easyfairs explains why this industry deserves its own event: "Easyfairs has been organizing construction-related events that appeal to a broader target group in many European countries for years. By organizing Future Lighting, we are going in depth. Lighting is not an afterthought, but contributes significantly to sustainability and productivity, provided it is applied properly. This requires specific knowledge and further development of products. Because we bring all the important players in the market together in Gorinchem for two days every year, this further development is accelerated. Architects and lighting professionals who want to think along, provide input, are open to new perspectives and are inspired, are in attendance."
The event itself has also seen significant further development since its launch in November 2022. Irma explains, "The content program, set up by NSVV, Groen Licht Vlaanderen and IBE-BIV, was very well received by the event's target audience last year. An excellent program has been put together again this year, including keynote speaker Elena Scaroni of Lighting Europe. Furthermore, a mini-symposium on circularity will be organized in cooperation with the LightRec Foundation."
In addition to the high-quality content program, there are two more important specials on the exhibition floor, Irma continues. "Namely, visitors can combine a visit to the event with other work, thanks to the specially equipped co-working area, where work can be done in a quiet, comfortable setting. Third, we are introducing the Living Lab this year. The garden presents as yet unknown companies that have the potential to grow into niche players. These can be innovators, but also light consultancies that want to tell more about their approach."
On the expo front, the event is also experiencing a further development with a doubling in the number of exhibitors, but especially with an extra boost in quality thanks to new names such as Trilux and Etap. In addition, industry associations NLA and Techniek Nederland are also present at the event, representing the entire chain.
"That is valuable and certainly essential for that acceleration of the sector," says Irma de Hoon: "Now that the entire light dome is represented at Future Lighting, all facets in the chain are highlighted. Quality in the chain is an important focus for the light dome and extra attention will be paid to that with a nice separate initiative during the event. I cannot say anything about that at the moment, but that we are going to make an impact with Future Lighting this year as well is certainly a promise."
