Platform on architecture, interior design and landscape architecture
No restrictions, just opportunities
GREENGRIDZ can be finished with TopLaminate, DecorTop and Fenix.

No limitations, only opportunities

The architect gets to say: will it be a 'regular' panel or a deliberate choice for a circular panel?

Sustainability and circularity are now the foundations of every architectural design. Consumers explicitly demand environmentally friendly materials, at the same time the government sets strict requirements for CO2 emissions and circular construction. GREENGRIDZ offers architects a pioneering solution that both fulfills current requirements and sets the standard for the future. This patented board material combines minimal use of resources with maximum performance, making it a perfect choice for residential construction projects and interior applications.

GREENGRIDZ is an innovative, circular furniture panel mainly used in kitchen, desk and table tops. The material consists of a patented GRID system made of FSC-certified wood and MDF panels. This structure creates a strong but ultra-light sheet material. GREENGRIDZ uses 60 to 90% fewer raw materials than traditional materials, such as plywood and particleboard, resulting in significantly lower CO₂ emissions during production and transportation.

A logical choice

According to Dekker Zevenhuizen - supplier of this panel material - it is also special that it is completely recyclable. Marketing director Ben van Elk explains that discarded panels are processed via pyrolysis. "In the process, valuable raw materials such as carbon for water and air filters are generated from them. This literally and figuratively completes the circle. I am convinced that GREENGRIDZ should actually become the standard in every architectural design. Of course from green considerations, but also because the market is crying out for such solutions!"

So Ben is clear why GREENGRIDZ should have a significant role in designs. "I said it before: sustainability is the basis. With that, it meets the most stringent environmental requirements. The product not only helps architects meet regulations such as the Environmental Performance of Buildings (MPG), but also contributes to certifications such as BREEAM and LEED. This makes GREENGRIDZ a logical choice for construction projects that have sustainability at their core."

In addition, Ben points out that the material is lightweight and user-friendly. "It makes transportation more efficient and reduces fuel consumption, further minimizing already low carbon emissions. It also makes assembly easier, without sacrificing strength. This makes the material ideal for both large-scale construction projects and small-scale interior applications. After all, an architect also wants the convenience of his design ideas to be seen further down the line, right?"

GREENGRIDZ furniture panel can be finished with high-quality decors, such as TopLaminate, DecorTop and Fenix. "This gives architects the freedom to combine sustainability with a stylish and modern design, tailored to the client's requirements. So there are no restrictions!"

Housing Associations

For housing associations facing the daily challenges of sustainability and affordable housing, GREENGRIDZ also offers a solution. Ben: "The material is not only cost-effective in the long run through reduced maintenance and waste costs, but also easy to integrate into renovation and new construction projects. By incorporating GREENGRIDZ into drawings and specifications, architects can make a substantial contribution to circular goals while meeting the growing demand for sustainable housing construction."

GREENGRIDZ thus represents more than a product, Ben concludes. "It embodies a movement toward a more sustainable and responsible building industry. And, a more environmentally conscious interior. Architects who choose this are investing in innovation and contributing to a future where design and sustainability go hand in hand. But then, really!"

TIP for architects:

Sustainable building is something we do together. So download the white paper from the Dekker Zevenhuizen website. And... measure the CO2 emissions or set them against the number of cups of coffee or anything else you save when Greengridz is used instead of plywood. Use the calculator!
