Very light fiberglass window sill makes work easier!

While construction is always evolving and changing, this was not true for window sills for a long time. This created a problem because the existing types no longer fit modern insulated facades due to their weight. Therefore, Raamdorpelelementen BV comes up with a completely new type of window sill made of glass fiber.

It took more than half a century, but now the new IsoSill window sill is here. Bart Tenbült, director-owner of Raamdorpelelementen BV from Bladel: "Window sills have always had a stony base, but what you see now is that insulation is being placed against the outer wall. Then the existing sills are too heavy, they need support, which causes a thermal bridge under the windows." 

Tenbült ging daarom op zoek naar een alternatief. “We zochten naar een licht materiaal. Daarbij kun je aan aluminium denken maar dit heeft niet de juiste uitstraling. Daarna probeerden we de bestaande raamdorpels lichter te maken, maar voordelen van materialen worden dan juist nadelen. Uiteindelijk bleek een heel nieuw product de beste oplossing. IsoSill raamdorpels hebben een kern van EPS (tempex), die licht is en isolerend werkt. De buitenste laag is van GVK: dit heeft ook isolerende eigenschappen en is ijzersterk. Een raamdorpel van 3mm dik weegt door deze combinatie maar drie kilo per meter. Ideaal voor projecten met isolatie aan buitenkant.”
