Three product innovations from Shaw Contract EMEA were approved to be presented at ARCHITECT@WORK in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. This year's ninth edition of the event runs under the theme "Healthy materials. This emphasizes sustainability and the processes products undergo on their way to production.
To be shown at the event, all products are evaluated for their quality of innovation and approved by a panel of architects and interior designers. This means that only the latest designs shaping the architecture and design industry are featured.
Shaw Contract will exhibit new styles of carpet tiles on its market-leading ComfortWorx™ backing. Which is made from 90% recycled plastic bottles, increasing both comfort underfoot and acoustic comfort for users. Beam and Braid are part of the Suited collection. Which is optimized for low carbon content and produced at the carbon-neutral factory in Scotland, using Shaw's EcoSolution Q100™ yarn.
Two new styles in Shaw Contract's Kindred collection will also be on display. Illusion and Together were approved by the jury for their design exploration of the Natureverse concept, celebrating the symbiosis between technological and organic forms. This is created by the interaction between nature and technology in our world.
The result of a Shaw Contract collaboration with IOBAC MagTabs™ completes the trio of innovations. This adhesive-free installation method for metal raised floors allows for clean and easy removal of floor tiles for reuse or recycling. It thus contributes to a Cradle-to-Cradle way of thinking.
Andrew Jackson, Business Development Director EMEA at Shaw Contract said, "We are looking forward to coming out to ARCHITECT@WORK Rotterdam this year. Meeting the broader European market of architects and designers is a great opportunity to showcase our commitment to more than 20 years of Cradle-to-Cradle manufacturing and our passion for design."
Through its European headquarters in Oosterhout, Netherlands, and a carbon-neutral manufacturing facility in Sanquhar, Scotland, Shaw Contract continues to innovate. The EcoWorx® PVC-free carpet tile backing was the first flooring product ever to be Cradle-to-Cradle certified. All carpet tiles produced in Scotland are Indoor Air Comfort Gold certified by Eurofins. This contributes to the creation of healthy indoor environments. Shaw Contract's ComfortWorx™ carpet tile backing recently won an award in the international category at the GreenStep 2022 Awards, Floor Covering Weekly's annual awards ceremony.
The event, which takes place on September 14 and 15 at Rotterdam's Ahoy convention center, also unpacks with an extensive seminar program around this theme. ARCHJTECT@WORK Rotterdam is offering a hybrid visitor experience this year, allowing visitors to attend both in person and virtually.
