Building automation is becoming ever smarter, but of course it must be comprehensible to everyone. Siedle is therefore introducing a new generation of intercom systems that offers user-friendliness for installers and occupants alike. Under the collective name Siedle IQ, the company combines an IP-based video door entry system, digital services and a user-friendly platform.
“Our goal was clear,” says Haro Sangers, Sales Manager Netherlands. “We wanted to develop a system that is technically advanced, but remains so simple that anyone can work with it, from electrician to end user.”

Central to the concept is the IQ platform, a digital environment where all stakeholders and devices come together. Here, installations are virtually displayed, including current status reports. Installers can monitor, maintain and manage projects remotely. According to Sangers, this creates a significant efficiency gain. “The whole workflow can be followed digitally, from planning and quotation to commissioning and maintenance. That means less paperwork, fewer chances for error and faster delivery.”
The platform uses cloud technology for management, configuration and updates. That shift to digital services optimizes processes and shortens project turnaround time. “We bring the extended functionality to the platform and the app,” Sangers says. “That saves time and makes the whole process
more transparent.”
The system continues to evolve, he emphasizes. New functions, additional services and automatic security updates are added continuously. In this way, the platform grows along with the practice of today and tomorrow.

Thanks to the IQ Config App, much of the installation work shifts to the preparation phase. What used to have to be done on site can now be set up in advance, so on-site installation takes much less time. “This not only makes the work easier, but also more predictable. The installer can plan more efficiently and help his customer faster. Moreover, we give the approved installer additional visibility through our website, so customers can find him directly.”
The new product series includes video door stations (IQ Door) for one to six residential units, the video indoor station (IQ Indoor), a switching
actor and associated power supplies. The in-house telephones combine design with functionality: an HD camera with true night vision (unique in this segment, according to Siedle) a 4.3-inch display and flexible connection options via LAN, PoE or WLAN.
For new buildings and renovations, Siedle offers complete sets for LAN and WLAN. This makes the changeover to IP technology accessible to every project. “In doing so, we have thought about sustainability: one device version is suitable for three mounting options. This saves material and transport costs.” As Sangers sums it up, “Innovation is only valuable when it really makes work easier. That is exactly what Siedle IQ stands for.”
