Large organizations are increasingly opting for intelligent access control. Not only to guarantee the security of their buildings, but also to ensure comfort and convenience for employees, knows Marc van Oijen, Architectural Advisor at GU Netherlands. "If a client asks for easy and safe access, it is important to think about this at an early stage."
Gretsch-Unitas, better known as GU, is a leading supplier in window and door technology, automatic access systems and building management systems. The GU group produces and distributes, among other things, building hardware, locks and locking and access control systems of the brands GU, GU automatic, FERCO, BKS and GEMOS. Safety and accessibility are at the forefront here.
By 2050, all buildings in the Netherlands must be CO2 neutral. "In so-called 'smart buildings,' different systems work together to make that happen," Van Oijen said. "Smart buildings is a term that has made considerable headway in recent years. These buildings can adapt to the needs of their users through smart technology. For example, in terms of comfort, energy consumption and safety." With the GEMOS system, GU Netherlands offers an advanced Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) system to match.
"Our GEMOS system makes it possible to combine a wide range of security functions for doors and windows in one system," Van Oijen clarifies. "Practical and convenient. Consider the combination of access control with electronically secured escape and panic doors. The system can be customized as required and is excellent for interfacing with security management systems or third-party systems."
GU offers multi-door solutions. Both mechanical and electronic. "This makes it very easy to establish, control and adjust access authorizations. We combine intelligent door systems with smart software, allowing easy integration of different door types and functions."
Developments in the field of building management systems are going fast, notes Van Oijen. "The GEMOS system also keeps up with this and remains continuously up-to-date. Our experts continuously strive for improvements, for example in terms of interface, visualization, monitoring, floor plans, layouts and ease of use."
GEMOS meets the needs of any building management scenario: from security and safety to risk and facility management, and from highly complex situations to smaller simple projects. "By applying and configuring only the basic components, a separate server or client installation is not required," says Van Oijen. "Will doors be added later? Or does the system need to be expanded? With a configuration, the system can be scaled up in no time!"
The ixalo electronic locking system (which requires no wiring on the door) can also be integrated into the GEMOS system. "This gives you more overview and you work even faster and more efficiently. Moreover, it is possible to integrate doors into the system afterwards as well as to integrate (and manage) them offline. And access rights are also easy to assign via GEMOS."
