Elegant finishes for luxury projects

Matte PVD coating particularly popular

The access technology market is not standing still, despite the challenges of the current economy. Before the end of the year, everyone is still trying to finalize the necessary plans, but the uncertain outlook continues to be felt. Director Wim Brusselaers acknowledges that 2024 was not an easy year, especially in Belgium: "The Belgian construction sector took a heavy hit, but the Benelux as a whole held up reasonably well."

Early next year, the company will launch a new product line, again focusing on innovation and aesthetics. "The challenges in the construction industry do not disappear overnight, but fortunately our customers certainly know how to find us. For example, because of the creative possibilities offered by our PVD coatings."

Noble and durable: PVD coating

PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) is a process in which stainless steel is coated with an ultra-thin, robust coating. This makes the surfaces not only scratch-resistant and weatherproof, but also very easy to maintain. "We can now deliver our PVD-coated front panels faster and in larger sizes," Brusselaers said. Previously, the panels were first cut to size and then coated, but by using pre-laminated panels, production is considerably more efficient. "As a result, there is no longer a limit to the size of the front panels, which is ideal for large residential installations."

PVD coatings are available in three colors: copper, brass and black, each in a brushed or polished version. With six possible combinations, this offers wide design freedom, especially for more upscale projects such as apartment buildings and offices. The matte finish is particularly popular: "It gives a sophisticated look and has the advantage that fingerprints are hardly visible," Brusselaers explains. Some 80% of demand focuses on this finish because of its aesthetic and practical benefits.

A unique aesthetic for design projects

PVD finishes are widely used in leading projects for both offices and residential complexes, such as on the Belgian coast, where the Versluys Group chose the company. These high-end apartment complexes used custom door stations from the Siedle Classic and Siedle Steel lines. With touchscreen functionality and special finishes, these door stations complement the luxurious design of the facades.

With their durable and elegant appearance, PVD-coated products are ideal for architects and developers looking for a sophisticated finish. As Brusselaers emphasizes, "The combination of customization, aesthetics and speed makes our systems an excellent choice for demanding projects."
