Hob with integrated extractor conquers today's kitchen

Besides the fact that the kitchen became a visible place in the home, it is also a fact that there are less and less square meters available to live in. "But at the same time, you want all the space in your (open) kitchen to be able to cook deliciously and practically," says Anna-Lena Schotzki, Product and Marketing Specialist at SMEG. "One of the solutions is the cooktop with integrated extractor."

Anna-Lena is referring to SMEG's HOBD cooktop line (Hood in Hob). "Induction cooking is combined with exhaust power in one appliance. This involves an elegant, minimalist design with attention to detail."

The cast-iron grate in the center of the cooktop is a piece of design in itself.

A cast iron grid is placed in the center of the cooktop, protecting the powerful integrated exhaust camp. With no difference in height across the surface, the glass-ceramic cooktop is resistant and completely flat, allowing the home cook to move hot pans across the plate with no problems without bumping into obstacles or edges.

"Just a few centimeters below the surface, the extraction motor then immediately removes cooking odors and fumes. This is much faster than a traditional extractor hood above the cooktop. The HOBD is also equipped with an efficient high-quality grease filter that can be washed in the dishwasher. Furthermore, the plate features the special AquaProof Engine & Two Liquid collection system. It is a good safeguard: inadvertent spilling of liquids does not cause any problems. That risk is gone."

The cooktop can be used either with a normal flue system to the outside or in the configuration with recirculation. "If one chooses the latter, a specially designed kit, consisting of regenerable ceramic filters, purifies the cooking fumes. This means that no smoke exhaust is needed. How easy can life be! The kit can be installed in the most modern kitchen on a plinth only 6 inches high!"

Dolce Stil Novo

"The cooktop is available in two design lines," Anna-Lena continues. "On the one hand, we have a universal design line, which fits any aesthetic choice for the kitchen. This model is suitable for surface mounting as well as flush mounting. On the other hand, the cooktop is also available in our premium design line - Dolce Stil Novo. Which is all about minimalist elegance with black Eclipse glass and for the finishing touch the subtle copper edge. In addition, the remaining built-in range is available in the Dolce Stil Novo design line. So the look of the kitchen becomes even more luxurious. As a result, you can also see the copper edge on our built-in ovens, for example."

Anna-Lena emphasizes user-friendliness. "A simple fingertip touch on one of the multi-sliders is enough to set the temperature. This allows each cooking zone to be set individually. In addition, in addition to the four induction cooking zones, the decision was made to apply two multi-zones, making the cooking zones more flexible and even making it possible to cook with a grill plate, for example."

She concludes, "So there is something for everyone! The HOBD hobs open up the possibility of optimally arranging open kitchens with kitchen islands. Incidentally, we also offer a wide range of traditional hoods. These in turn fit perfectly with our other design lines, cooktops and range stoves."
