German manufacturer continues to innovate with high-quality door communication for exclusive buildings
In the world of luxury residential and representative commercial buildings, the entrance plays an increasingly important role. It is the first impression of a property - and demands more than a standard intercom box. Siedle, manufacturer of high-quality door communication systems, is celebrating its 275th anniversary this year. In the Netherlands, the company is a fixture among architects, consultants and installers who demand customization and reliability.
"What makes Siedle unique is the combination of technical perfection and design freedom," says Haro Sangers, project manager at Siedle Netherlands. "There is a suitable solution for every entrance. We ensure that our system matches the design and does not detract from the overall appearance."
In many projects, Siedle is mentioned at an early stage. "Often we are included in the specifications or the architect prescribes us as a suitable manufacturer. The installer then requests a quotation. This includes not only all the components required for a fully functioning system, but also a visualization of the door station and the associated indoor devices."
After submitting the offer, Siedle actively seeks contact with the applicant. The person who actually carries out the project receives comprehensive support. When the project is commissioned, Siedle provides a tailor-made wiring diagram and offers technical programming support. Even after completion, the service department remains available for questions from the installer or end customer. "We don't do any installation ourselves, but we supervise the entire project from start to finish," Sangers emphasizes. "That personal contact and technical support make the difference for many parties."
The Siedle Steel design line is the standard for those who want to combine customization and design. Each system is built individually, tailored in detail to location, finish and desired functionality. The range varies from brushed stainless steel to black PVD-coated brass, including code keypads, cameras, letterboxes and touchscreens.
Whereas many suppliers offer intercom systems as a by-product, Siedle sticks to specialization. Especially in terms of audio quality, the brand makes a difference. Even with background noise, speech remains clear. Thanks to years of testing, extensive setups and attention to waterproofing, every system is robust and reliable. "You choose an intercom based on quality, not just price," says Sangers. "We also hear that back from customers who first tried something else and later come back to us."
Siedle began in 1750 as a bell foundry, switched to low-voltage technology in 1884 and developed its first intercom in 1935. In the anniversary year, the company is introducing Siedle IQ, the IP door intercom system of tomorrow - cloud-based and with IoT connection. To mark its 275th anniversary, Siedle organized an international event in Germany in May. Employees from around the world attended training sessions on new IP products, learned about innovations and jointly celebrated the longevity of a brand.
