What is special about Oil Plus 2C is its binding. "Our oil forms a molecular bond with the wood fibers in the wood surface, thus protecting and coloring the wood in a single layer," said Sjoerd Bos, sales manager at Rubio Monocoat Netherlands. "This avoids overlaps and deposits and gives you superior, durable wood protection, at very low consumption. Moreover, this way you preserve the natural look and feel of the wood as well as the unique grain structure."

Unlimited possibilities

Oil Plus 2C is available in 40 colors, which can also be mixed together. From Antique Bronze to Ash Grey, Castle Brown, Dark Oak, Pine and Mahogany. 

"With this, we offer architects and end users unlimited possibilities," Bos said. "The oil enriches the natural appearance of the wood, is highly ecological (VOC-free) and contains no water or solvents. With this we also guarantee the safety and health of both the user and his environment. Oil Plus 2C is suitable for almost all wood species and wood types (solid wood, veneer, MDF, ...). The combination of an oil and accelerator guarantees fast curing, for optimal protection, while a very low consumption of one liter per 30-50 m2 helps to reduce our waste streams."

Easy processing and maintenance

Oil Plus 2C is very easy to apply and maintain, Bos says. Architects and processors who wish to do so can request a color sample. "From samples up to 5 liter cans, we guarantee a very high color control. As a result, architects, processors and end users are always assured of exactly the same color. This also simplifies maintenance. After all, maintenance can be done with exactly the same color and without overlaps." 

For maintenance, dry cleaning, such as vacuuming or a microfiber cloth, suffices. "And the use of a good doormat also contributes to long-term protection without the need for intensive maintenance."

Demonstrable quality and sustainability

Rubio Monocoat is the reference when it comes to high-quality and environmentally friendly wood protection.

The environmentally friendly linseed-based oil received, among other things, an LCA from VITO and a B-EPD from the FPS Public Health. Moreover, Rubio Monocoat was the first in the wood treatment sector to obtain the 'Eurofins Indoor Air Comfort Gold' label. 

"The certificates show not only that our product is produced, distributed and recycled in an environmentally friendly way, but also that the oil contributes to a healthy indoor environment. Importantly, Oil Plus 2C also meets the toy standard EN 71-3 and the oil is Food Contact Compliant. This means that you can also safely apply the product to wooden toys, cutting boards, kitchen worktops. In short: the possibilities are endless."
