The origins of SLV Netherlands lie with Lagotronics, a company specializing in lighting on the one hand and gaming technology for amusement parks on the other. Since 2015, the lighting branch has been a subsidiary within the SLV Group. With 17 employees, including a number of lighting consultants, the lighting specialist operates from Venlo, but benefits from the expertise and clout of the SLV Group.
Marketing Coordinator Clim de Boer: "SLV GmbH has subsidiaries in 15 countries, including the Netherlands. From Germany, 98% of the products are available from stock. This makes us a very reliable supplier."
Light is the passion of SLV Netherlands and, according to De Boer, this is noticeable throughout the supply chain. "From our own innovations and quality controls to the fair prices. We have an enormously wide range, which architects love to work with."
This also has to do with SLV's lighting consultants. "Customers come to us with a global idea and their wishes, we turn this into a concrete plan. We make a lighting calculation taking into account the situation. Then we can display our products in the room by means of a 3D impression. In this way we can unburden our customers."
De Boer continues: "Our products are largely delivered within 48 hours from Germany. Test laboratories can also be found here, where SLV products are thoroughly tested. Designers and developers continuously work here in addition to create even better luminaires. SLV also has its own branch office in China, to monitor quality and a good working environment there."
SLV is paying more and more attention to sustainability. "LED lighting naturally helps to make buildings more sustainable," says De Boer. In addition, SLV's premises are energy-neutral and the company is increasingly working with recycled materials. "We are making products with recycled plastic for the first time, these are some ceiling lights, light sources and a garden spotlight. Other than that, it's all about small aspects. For example, we no longer use foil and plastic in our packaging, screws are in cardboard bags. That's how we make new steps every time."
Especially for architects, there is the Numinos collection. "Until now, we worked with many different types of lighting families. Now, however, there is the Numinos system, which is modular. The customer can put together his own luminaire step by step by choosing from many different features. Should it be a ceiling lamp, a pendant, should the fixture be tiltable, surface-mounted or recessed. In total, over 1500 different combinations are possible within our configurator. It also immediately shows what light this fixture gives. The series has the same design so that the luminaires fit together, whatever composition is chosen." In the near future, SLV also wants to apply this idea to outdoor lighting.
The company's new catalog is available now. In addition, SLV Netherlands will again be present at Light & Building, from March 13 - 18, 2022. "Unfortunately, this fair did not go ahead in 2020. We had plans for a large booth and hope to carry them out next year. Many of our products will then be on display in Frankfurt."
