Thanks in part to new premises and a special showroom, NK Elevator Interiors is all set for the future. The company is committed to creating elevator interiors for luxury projects as well as renovating social housing elevator interiors. For every segment, from high to low, NK Liftinterieur offers elevator interiors.
"In 2019, we opened new premises with a new showroom," explains owner Nick de Korte. "This showroom is special because here it is possible to see real elevator interiors." In addition, the company does the production itself and architect and client can see how each part is crafted. "Every part is made with love, that's where our strength lies," he says.
NK Elevator Interiors handles the renovation of existing elevator interiors and does the non-standard new construction projects. However, the company specializes in fulfilling special requests. "We think with architects and it's really about the details. We are often more critical than the customer."
For a new construction project, the elevator cars are sometimes even temporarily put up at NK Elevator Interiors. "We put the interior in and also take it out. When the elevators are placed in the project, we can put the parts back like a kit, seamless and blind."
This project uses walnut veneer on black MDF. Milling this creates a walnut panel with black seams. Furthermore, patinated brass is used here.
The company does almost everything itself: from waterjet cutting, metal and woodworking, to spraying the panels. De Korte: "We also work with VeroMetal®. This is metal powder in, for example, bronze, brass or copper that we can spray on all kinds of substrates. We use this a lot in elevators, such as in a project where the doors have VeroMetal® bronze. Thanks to sanding and patination, a very luxurious result is created."
According to De Korte, in-house production is a major strength: "Once we started as an assembly company that also did production, but we have now become a production company that also does assembly."
The luxury sector is an important niche for NK Elevator Interiors, but now the company is also introducing a cheaper interior line. "Our level of quality remains just as high, but we have designed a new line that is also suitable for a slightly lower segment. We use HPL panels made of Formica, which can then be slid into a stainless steel profile. This way of assembly saves time and therefore money
