Energy-saving solutions can be achieved through smart lighting

Design and functionality combined

The new year beckons, and yet, according to LED lighting distributor Exaltation BV, many companies are not very concerned with their energy consumption. Account manager Pascal Van Sloun: "For offices larger than 100 m², it is compulsory to have energy label C from January 1, 2023. Unfortunately, this is not yet the case.

As an importer and distributor of LED lighting, the company mainly supplies electrical installation companies, interior decorators, regional wholesalers and architects. "We like to shake people up. Indeed, even from municipalities we hear that their town halls are still full of energy-guzzling bulbs. Too bad, because in addition to installing cavity wall insulation, replacing lighting is an easy way to save energy."

Application of light as a specialty

Exaltation has been specializing in this LED lighting since its founding in 2011. "We have part of our range produced under our own name and we are also distributors in the Benelux of the brands Deko-Light, Litegear, GAP Lighting, GLPower, Sigor, Acclaim Lighting and EcoLight." 

The company is happy to help create a lighting plan or suggest energy-saving solutions. Van Sloun: "The proper application of light is a specialty. You don't want the lighting at the butcher's at the baker's, and vice versa. We therefore advise on the right light color and of course on the placement of the fixtures. We also know what a company must meet to be eligible for subsidies."

Exaltation provides both indoor and outdoor lighting. "We think outside the box. In an office building you can work with the standard LED panels, but other fixtures are also very suitable. Think, for example, of lighting in ring form, with the same functionality as the LED panels, but more interesting in terms of design. Playing with color is also easy thanks to LED lighting. For example, by lighting a business building with halogen emitters that change color."

An example of this effect can be seen at eatery Napoleon in Beek. "Our client AVL-solutions from Venlo applied our Acclaim Rebel Band Pro fixtures equipped with RGBW colors here. This is an IP67 fixture that is extremely suitable for outdoor projects. Everything is connected via DMX to the existing lighting control system. Thus, the entire building can be changed to any color."
