"Earthy, dark tones are one of the most important interior design trends for 2025. They create a sense of security," explains designer Gesa Hansen, who developed the new Artis color concept for Villeroy & Boch. With four new matte full-color shades- Pure Black, Almond, Nightfall and Teal - Artis responds to the trend toward powerful mid-tones and adds its own, highly individual note.
"In an increasingly hectic, uprooted world, we long for quiet retreats," Hansen says. "The depth effect of shadows and darkness creates a kind of refuge from the stimuli of the outside world." With Nightfall, a deep midnight blue, and Pure Black, a soothing deep black, she has chosen two colors that respond to this need for safety. The shades are complemented by "rays of light": Almond, a soft, warm beige, and Teal, a vibrant blue-green. These can be used to add accents and contrasts.
The four new shades expand the Artis collection, which until now has consisted of BiColour shades. Here, the inside of the washbasin is finished in glossy white and the outside in one of ten matte silk colors. In addition to the well-known BiColour series, the range now includes full-color countertop washbasins for the first time. Like all other products, they are made of high-grade TitanCeram and impress with sophisticated design and at the same time exceptional robustness. All Artis surface-mounted washbasins are available in four shapes: round, oval, square and rectangular. They can be combined with furniture from collections such as Finion and Antao.
