"At Indu Doors® we understand that every interior design is unique. That is also why our interior wooden doors are exclusively custom-made in our door workshop in Ede," explains company manager Jarco Hendriksen. "Here the design possibilities are almost as endless as our love of wood. Whether it's hinged doors, pivot doors, sliding doors or en-suited doors: we don't turn our hand to extreme dimensions, special detailing and other unique specifications. We prove this, for example, in a newly built home in Emmeloord, for which Vera Boers, interior designer and owner of De Ontwerpboer, designed a unique Indu Doors® interior door."
The interior door is the design statement in the quiet interior of a newly built home whose residents recently saw their children fly out. "The main desire for the interior was a quiet base, with light colors and natural materials," Boers says. "But also a warm base. The choice of wood fits this ideally." No material has such a warm and atmospheric feel as wood, she says. "The material's own structure gives the interior a pleasant softness and at the same time provides character."
Instead of a standard new construction interior, Boers created a luxurious interior design with a concrete ciré floor and walls with linen wallpaper and an unusual tessellation. In terms of furnishings, she chose a light element sofa, combined with a wooden kitchen, a wooden dining and coffee table, a variety of soft fabrics and warm material prints. The eye-catcher in the room is the solid oak door with a special curve in the arch, which playfully breaks the straight lines in the house. Because the door extends from floor to ceiling, the height of the room is emphasized, while the horizontal rods make the door appear extra wide. This makes the design appear even more robust, with the glass providing pleasant sight lines and transparency." Boers developed her ideas into a 3-D interior design, to which the furniture plan was also linked. "Then I put the residents in touch with the right suppliers, such as Indu Doors®."
Boers likes to design project-specific doors that match the rest of the interior in wood type, style, size, finish and color, she says. "Thanks to Indu Doors®'s wide range, I was able to give free rein to my creativity," she says. "The team at Indu Doors® really brought my design to life." Contact with Indu Doors® came about through Instagram, which regularly features inspiring door designs. "After that, the ball started rolling very quickly and Indu Doors® completely took the contact with and relieved the residents." Hendriksen: "Vera sent us a complete 3D design, which we incorporated into our door design software. To check the dimensions, we visited the location in Emmeloord and measured the door exactly. Then we finalized our design, shared it for review and started our production."
"The interior door is made of solid oak, ensuring both functionality and aesthetics for the long term," Hendriksen emphasizes. "Instead of a coat of lacquer, we work with special oils that soak deep into the wood. As a result, small damages are barely visible and residents can enjoy their unique door for as long as possible." A dark chocolate shade was chosen in this project, creating a special contrast. A unique solid door handle from the Indu Doors® collection and in the same color completes the exclusive door design. Says Boers, "The residents are incredibly excited about the result."
Indu Doors® exclusive interior doors are made by a young and dynamic team, with a great passion for wood as well as an eye for detail. "As an organization we now have 10 years of experience in interior doors," Hendriksen says. "As a result, we know exactly what wood can do and how it should be processed. We have an eye for sustainability. We follow trends and developments closely and are open to the ideas of architects and designers such as Vera, whose door design is also included in our collection. This allows even more people to enjoy her unique
door design enjoy."
