Partition wall manufacturer Sasja Fransen received a demand in 2016 for a modular, flexible wall that could also be completely reused. This led to a breakthrough in flexibility and circularity: the development of the patented Zipper Wall system.
A plain zipper pulls the various modules together and forms a rock-solid and stable connection between the wall sections. Zipper Wall has the wall sections in stock and assembly is done within 2 to 4 weeks. Ritswand supplies walls, but also units in the form of a meeting room, call box or concentration workstation. At a time when there will be less need for large offices, a space can easily be divided into smaller units. The units feature good acoustics, integrated intelligent LED lighting and their own ventilation system, with an optional additional air purification filter that removes bacteria, viruses (such as Covid-19) and mold from the air.
The walls are ingeniously clamped between the floor and ceiling. This ensures that only a Torx screwdriver is needed to assemble the walls and units. Without effort or any damage, the elements can be expanded, moved and eventually removed. An imprint in carpet is all that remains.
Zipper Wall's products are not thrown away in the event of a remodel or modification, but completely reused. As a result, customers receive a guaranteed trade-in price for up to ten years after purchase. The walls and units are modular in every way. For example, glass can easily be replaced with a fabric or wood panel. The frames come in a variety of colors, as do the panels. Fabric panels in the color of a corporate identity are also possible, of course, but at the expense of circularity. And circularity is something that comes first at Ritswand.
All products can be rented, or purchased with a guaranteed trade-in. In addition, customers can take advantage of the 2021 Environmental Investment Allowance (MIA) and Variable Environmental Depreciation (Vamil). Zipper wall products have virtually no impact on the environment. The company can substantiate this by the Lifecycle Analysis it had done. The products have an MCI value of a whopping 99.84%, which means that really everything can be reused.
