Open floor channel system gives limits power

At a time when flexible working is increasingly becoming the norm, cable management is unavoidable. Office Cabling Systems specializes in solutions for every cable issue. The open floor duct system Tetra® Limes is extremely suitable for application along walls, facades and glass facades.

Floor duct system OCS TETRA® LIMES is designed and made by OCS in the Netherlands. "LIMES is named after the famous Roman frontier," says Office Cabling Systems. "LIMES powers the boundaries of a building; think walls, facades and glass facades. The sendzimir trays with powder-coated plain steel lids provide plenty of room for a variety of cables. The matching floor box with 4x 230V RA and 4x data cutout is connected using a Gst18i3 connector." 

A unique feature of the system is that OCS tailors the elements to each project. This allows each client to add their own touch to the LIMES. "The architect has ultimate freedom. He is free to choose not only the dimensions, but also the color of the system. For example, the TETRA® LIMES in the same color as a window frame is strikingly inconspicuous. If necessary, we also match the channel covers with ease to a molding, parquet or carpet floor." 

OCS presents the TETRA© LIMES through two success projects; Feyenoord's training complex 1908 and the headquarters of Den Doorn Totaalinstallateurs.

During the measuring by OCS, it emerged that the gutters at Feyenoord needed to have different lengths. "We therefore made a clear drawing with the required floor channel components. At Feyenoord's request, we applied small cutouts to the end of the floor channels. With a special key, these covers open easily. Between the gutters are slim floor boxes with 230V and data connections. Because of the cast floor, the trunking covers do not have a raised edge; the floor box does. The entire gutter including the floor boxes is powder coated to the soccer club's specifications in RAL8022 with 70% gloss level in a fine texture."

Tetra® Limes in new headquarters

Den Doorn Totaalinstallateurs chose the custom Tetra® Limes system for its new headquarters, located next to OCS' headquarters. The floor channel system was installed along the glass facade. 

"Den Doorn Totaalinstallateurs gave us all the important data. With that, we created a complete design with the supplies. This project required 18 different gutter covers. Of course we applied markings to the drawing and parts. At Den Doorn, we supplied universal one-meter sendzimir gutters. Those were easier to process on site. The gutters are attached to each other with brackets through the inside. Because of the carpeted floor, the gutter covers have a raised edge, just like the floor box. The plain steel channel covers and floor boxes are powder coated in black RAL9005 with 70% gloss grade in a fine texture." 

Not only Den Doorn itself is very satisfied with the floor channel system, according to OCS.
