Office lighting that focuses on comfort, flexibility and human-centeredness
The work environment is changing at lightning speed. Flexibility, comfort and technology are key. Good lighting is crucial. Performance in Lighting responds to this with the updated OFFICE brochure. In it, the complete range of office lighting is conveniently bundled: from waiting areas to meeting rooms and workplaces. The emphasis is on efficient, functional and comfortable lighting solutions, with the focus on people.
According to Casper Zuurbier, designer at Performance in Lighting | powered by GEWISS, the focus is shifting from the building to the user: "For our clients, I create customized lighting plans. What is striking is the growing demand for smart control, automatic lighting in presence and flexible solutions."
A notable trend within office projects is the disappearance of the suspended ceiling. As a result, pendant and free-standing luminaires are increasingly becoming the solution. A good example is the SL730+: a free-standing luminaire that illuminates both upwards and downwards, with separately adjustable light color and intensity. Thanks to the integrated motion sensor, USB ports and adjustable angle, the fixture is not only smart but also practical. This is ideal for monumental buildings, for example, where drilling is not allowed.
With features such as daylight control, Human Centric Lighting (HCL), Tunable White (TW), Bluetooth control and a swarm function, the SL730+ responds perfectly to the need for modern, flexible workstations. There are variants for single or double desks, with a table clamp or U-shaped base. The luminaires are designed to the highest standards (UGR < 19, EN 12464-1) and meet requirements for subsidies and certifications such as BREEAM.
For lighting planners and installers, Performance in Lighting offers the LIGHT-PERFORMER: an online tool that allows custom fixtures to be assembled and entire light lines calculated. "With this, we offer something the competition often does not have: customization that architects are really looking for," Zuurbier said.
A good example of this is the project for the renovated headquarters of the Hollands Midden Fire Department in Leiden, where luminaires were placed in a playful arrangement, entirely according to the architect's wishes. "We move flexibly with both the technical requirements of the contractor and the creative vision of the designer." With the OFFICE brochure, Performance in Lighting shows that office lighting is more than just light. It is about atmosphere, energy, concentration - and above all: about people.
The look to the future is not lacking either. The integration of lighting and smart control is becoming increasingly important. With the acquisition of Tvilight by GEWISS, Performance in Lighting has the knowledge to grow in this field. The company also sees great potential in Human Centric Lighting (HCL), in which light color and intensity during the day are tuned to the human biorhythm. "This is becoming the new standard for office lighting," says Zuurbier. "It is the direction in which we are developing: human-centric, not building-centric."
