"At De Rooy Steel Doors, we design and manufacture our steel doors ourselves, with a passion for steel as well as a good dose of craftsmanship and creativity," De Rooy emphasizes. "We delight in customization and do not turn our hand to innovative ideas. Thanks to close collaborations with interior builders, (interior) architects and (material) manufacturers, we can turn any creative idea into a manufacturable design and functionality and appearance come together beautifully. Round shapes

Steel doors with round, organic shapes are the trend of 2024, according to De Rooy. "These beautiful doors fit both sleek and modern interiors and can be applied in different ways. For example, by using circles in the door design, round handles and/or doors that round off. Our latest model The Arc, designed by architect Mariska Jagt, is a great example of this and from now on can be found on our updated website."

Glass collection with metal fabric

"We are always looking for new ways to surprise our customers," said De Rooy. "Our Glairon collection is a great example of this and consists of two layers of glass with one layer of metal fabric in between. So the metal fabric is really processed ín the glass, which gives a unique and special effect." 

Steel doors with Glairon glass, for example, are suitable for rooms where you don't want to look directly in. For example, work rooms, gymnasiums, clothing rooms and wine rooms, where all attention will henceforth go to the door. "The Glairon collection currently consists of six designs with different metallic tones (bronze, brass and copper), fabric shapes and mesh sizes. In addition, both clear and colored glass are available. Combined with a good lighting plan, Glairon creates a unique door experience."

Special door fills in leather, glass and wood

"We constantly draw inspiration from the things around us," De Rooy says. "But also from collaborations with (international) architects, who come up with surprising ideas for new door lines and material finishes." As an example, he mentions the use of Alphenberg leather in handles or door fills. But also the choice of patterned glass or rib glass. "Many wood fillings are also possible, with wood grooves and textures providing a special finishing touch."

As an example, De Rooy mentions the elegant collection of Royor coatings incorporating copper, bronze or brass. "The coatings give our steel interior doors an authentic and chic metallic look. They are applied by hand in an artisanal way and in multiple layers, with interior builders, (interior) architects and end customers having the choice of a 'striped' or 'brushed' finish."
