'The end result is always a beautiful light show'

The right light on a product shows it off perfectly, with a positive effect on sales. Exterus from Roeselare, Belgium, is a specialist in the natural lighting of spaces and products. Director and owner Juri Vannieuwenborgh: "We play with light and give spaces and objects the color they deserve."

Exterus is a lighting manufacturer with in-house production. Vannieuwenborgh: "We have an extensive range of lighting, where we develop everything ourselves and have it produced. The very useful feedback from our customers ensures that we continue to refine the range, both in residential, retail and hospitality. Our working area is the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg." 

Coming from the electronics sector, Vannieuwenborgh specialized in LED lighting since the beginning of this century. "With the advent of LED, I started looking into it. I got a good feeling about it and put my products on the market. That started going pretty well pretty quickly. Partly because we think along and together come to the most creative solutions and designs for small and large projects, such as a home, retail chain, museums, school and office buildings. With our current range, we can handle any project, both in terms of luminaire design and lighting quality."

Today, stores, office buildings and hotels are mainly lit with LED. "That is energy-saving on the one hand, but on the other hand, with this the possibilities are unlimited. Each product demands a specific color saturation, so to speak, in order to display it correctly. With our expertise in terms of customization, we can display all products freshly and attractively and this without harmful influences of UV light. For new retail projects, we propose fixtures with the right color saturations so that each product is displayed correctly. Just as easily, we replace existing high-pressure lamps with a re-lighting module so that existing installations can also enjoy the benefits of energy savings and proper light."

Says Vannieuwenborgh, "In addition to the retail range, we also offer a full range of residential and hospitality lighting. Our A-track-tif track system is a magnetic track system with a control signal to enable dimming. Available in both surface mount and trimless, this track is polarized to allow both 1-10V and Dali dimming. The mix of both linear fixtures and point lighting or pendants allows the designer to apply their own vision in a flexible lighting system. Our range is completed by various built-in and surface-mounted fixtures that create the right atmosphere in a room. Our latest catalog named V08 was launched in April 2021 and is available for download on our website."
